Finally in the last two weeks there are bounties all over. Both on the unlawful and lawful side.
That's quite a chance from some 1-2 months ago when there was like one bounty every 4 weeks.
It gives mercenaries and BHG something to do and popularity of both these groups has sky-rocketed accordingly. - I guess Gronath's demotivational poster is no longer valid now :)
It also gives the hunted person a reason not to die... so it actually does matter if you get killed now. Makes the fighting all the more exciting.
So Kudos to everyone giving the bounties.
Some thoughts to keep it going long time into the future:
- Try avoid placing bounties on the same people all over for a longer time. But off course after some time you might return to the same faction again (like bounty on RoS for one week... .then again for a week after two weeks break). Placing the bounty on one faction all the time just makes for hard feelings/hatred.
- I would also suggest that Mercenaries/BHG really only attack/hunt people that there is a bounty on... they do this when dealing with lawfuls, but I feel like pirates are still a bit too much free-for-all. Hunting them "just because they are pirates" is not a good RP reason. Look at Cheshire... if she doesn't get payed, she doesn't give a damn (as far as I have seen).

I'm very glad that there are bounties again. I was getting worried that I would come back and there would be no reason to play on my BHG characters.
Just remember, even if there isn't a player bounty on someone, stations would still buy the pilot if he was a pirate. Of course, there are no pilots in player ships, so you just have to pretend they got away.

from a BHG point of view.. its good. especially the LSF bounties have been very nice - its not a "permanent" bounty for criminals, but they have had long term bounties - and kept them up ( just changed the targets ).
there is enough work for a BHG to hunt for a head. i don t know much about the rheinland bounties, cause i avoid rheinland as cheshire - rather unfriendly treatment and no cash for criminals is not attractive from a BHGs point of view. - but i don t know if there has been a change.
but all mercs / BHGs i see ingame say that rheinland is not worth as much as liberty right now. -
there are also a lot of unlawful bounties, giving the "mercs" something to do, that the BHG cannot do.
i have a little critizism though. ( critizism, not rant )
- i would like BHG players to REALLY make sure that the sponsor of the bounty is lawful, or it is a violation of the BHG ID - i sometimes feel that players forget about that.
- i would like BHGs and mercs consider "fighting for fun" but only when there is a bounty on a targets head. its a life and a ship to risk - and you hardly do that "for fun" ( mercs are not so hated cause they practicly go on a rampage within pirate places, but cause they are turncoats and you never know what they are up to - uncertainty is feared / hated more than certainty, even if the certainty puts one hostile )
- i do like high bounties - but we might want to keep it real ... 500.000.000 was a funny "event" but - imo not really realistic
what we might install on a bounties board:
- a "highscore", a "who is who" about whos death was ever payed for the most.

The obvious solution would be low (say 50 000) more permanent bounty on pirates. That would make more RP sense... but again that would make pirates even more free-for-all.
Still better if it makes sense...than 2 BHG GBs + 2 BHG BCs hunting a LF for free.

Yes, I'd say that demotivator is outdated. It's a great time to be a hunter. And I can see why you're all so happy about it, Mr. I-have-collected-the-fattest-bounty-Disco-has-seen-to-date.

Nah.. that was not really the reason why I'm happy about it.... I actually gave away most of the money (some still due)... because I don't have use for it. Though I thought that one sunny day I will try a Gunboat (after 6 months on Disco) :shok:

well, whoever has dealt with my merc ingame, knows that i dont help without the prospect that i will be paid.
ill give an offer in system once, that im up for hire. if anyone is interested, they pm me, or ask me to help them for a price. otherwise, i continue along with my business.
and yes, all these bounties has allowed me to collect quite a few of em:P

Though I'm glad there are finally bounties and lots of bounty hunters, one thing does concern me..
Capship whoring. Its gotten A LOT worse now.. One in two BHG/Merc ships I see not belonging to M and Core, are battlecruisers. They are spammed all over the place. I encountered THREE different people all flying a BHG BC in just Sigma-13 in one day, as well as a BHG BATTLESHIP. BHG aren't just here to try and collect bounties, they want to make sure that since traders put these bounties out on the fighters that pirated them, they get a ship thats completely invulnerable to them. The only people I've seen in months that is a merc/BHG and is flying bombers or fighters, is M. They are the ONLY ones not flying exclusively in BHG BCs. I can't even remember how long its been since I've seen a Manta, and they are actually good VHFs.

well, you haven t been to new york then - anyway. a lot of pirating happens in gunboats. an individual BHG will try to win of course - and in places like sigma-13, flying around in a baracuda wouldn t be such a good idea. besides - i have seen plenty of mercs / BHG in mantas, BHG bombers - more than battlecruisers. ( there is a high amount of orcas / gunships out ) - battlecruisers stand out, cause they are big, but one battlecruiser is still only one - and not plenty.
personally, i d say : fighters / bombers / gunboats for house systems and capital ships for omicrons / omegas mostly.
ps.: the only M i saw the last month was a battlecruiser ( or destroyer? - something big anyway ), - see how much perception varies.... and i have not seen a single BHG battleship at all
