Lane Hacker Heavy Fighter / Gunship - Toaster - 03-01-2011

So... my friend wants to make a Lane Hacker character, and since we tend to do things together, I was considering it myself.
I have already fallen in love with the design of the Bayonet, and I kinda like the weird look of the l3GS-1 Lane Hacker Gunship.

Now the question is:

Are they good? Or are they useless hunks of ship hull panels? And what loadouts can be recommended?

Thanks in advance!

I personally like it...it's a good gunship. Looks bug me a little, but that's okay. Lane Hacker turrets are very sexy tho

Bayonet - one of the best heavy fighters in game. But remember it's HF not VHF, so use its speed more then its power.

GS is weak, weak armor, small amount of bots/bats,huge for its stats. Hopefully gets buff in 4.86 It's not bad for pirating (but rather go with Broadsword then GS for pirating), but it's good for killing snubcrafts. But in the end it all comes to skill.

I recommend full LH turrets or full Basic turrets on GS.

On Bayonet, 2 class 9 hells, 2 class 8 hells, 2 class 9 debs.

I own both, Bayonet is awesome, the GS however It's to big seeing as it has the stats of a light GB

LH GS

It's not a bad ship for dueling other gunboats with... Just keep sliding and firing. Your turn speed means you'll be able to keep pretty much constant fire on the target.

Not a bad pirate boat either overall, but you can say that about any gunboat pretty much. However it doesn't deal with fighting small ships very well.

Taking hits in the LH GS is kinda costly. You've not got much armour, you're kinda fat, and only have 250 b/b. But like I said, for dueling other gunboats, it's pretty decent.

Bayonet

One of my favourite ships in the game. Great dueling other fighters, nice in a group brawl. Like all heavy fighters, it's kinda bad for piracy. Lane hacker guns are stupidly good (for their environment) so you'll get a lot of good use out of those. The Bayonet is fast as hell, packs more firepower, turns faster, and is smaller than it's main counterpart (the Executioner) so fly it and have fun. The ship is a monster.

*yawn & stretch*

Hmm... sounds like the Bayonet shall be bought. The GS.. well, I kinda suck at fighters anyway, so I guess I'll get that too.

Thanks for the opinions!

Lane Hackers gunship is a bit underpowered in my opinion. Its size is too big for its power and armour so you'll need some skills to pilots one correctly.

You can't go wrong with the Bayonet though, it's one nifty heavy fighter.

3x Raxor
1x Pulse
2x Hacker turret

You still die.

Bayonet: Kinda meh. I wouldn't suggest it, but that's mainly because I have no idea how to fly it. If you choose this, I would suggest going for a MR while having a friend with a CD. The MR will drain your plant, but will let you pack a bigger punch.

Gunship: Best Hacker ship imo. People call it big, weak, and paperthin. But in the right hands, you have a killing machine. If you go with this, I would suggest atleast a Cap4, and definitely go with 3 razors, 1 Pulse, and 2 Prims.
