The admins said before (although jokingly) it was indeed balanced, it takes you the same amount of time to complete X number of trade runs for the HUGE burst profit you get from 1 run on a barge doing the same route.
Alas, Mining did cause a lot of Q_Qing over where all the lolwuts went (they follow the money obviously)

Well, being only a hypothetical question, the answer would be "No you would not be compensated"
Why should they? In order to be fair, they would have to compensate everyone for every nerf on everything & that won't ever happen.
Besides, the sky has not actually fallen forever on mining anyway, so a question like this is just an exercise in premature panic.:P

Not that anyone cares but not everyone mined in a Hegemon. Therefore some did invest in a lot more credits for the ship.
Give us some clue as to what you are intending to do with this situation. The overly sarcastic and heavily laced remarks of "trying to sound like this was a good decision" are wearing thin. Why not try the truth for once and actually reply with exactly what you are going to do. That would be nice for a change.

can I give you a timeframe on as you say "all of this?" No.
Shall you pack up all your mining characters? If you like, sure. they are your characters. do what you like w/ 'em.
Is there a reason to actually keep them? Yes. Nowhere is it stated that mining is for certain gone forever never to return therefore, with the exception of those who actually took the time to give fixing ideas, the vast majority of the QQ'ing that has been going on is nothing much more than shortsighted angry snot blowing
Can I give you a clue on what I'm intending on doing with the situation? Sure, I intend on doing nothing about it. It simply ain't my problem as I'm neither an admin or a dev. I will however moderate the forums as is my job.
Why not relax & learn a little patience? That would be nice too
