Traffic control alert: X has requested to dock - AeternusDoleo - 03-15-2011

"Roger that. Your request has been denied. We cannot service spazz of that size."

' Wrote:Several updates:
- Introduced hooks to try to find the mission that is killing missions and a change that possibly prevents the mission board from becoming unavailable.
- Added a message when a ship docks in range of your scanners. This makes it easier to prove somebody is docking at a base in breach of some rule or another.
- I intend no further changes to the ramming damage behaviour unless there are more comments suggesting that it needs to be. Currently if two ships colide and the are reasonably small, no damage is done to either. In all other cases, damage is done to both ships proportional to their respective sizes
- Mining is somewhat finished. Field rebalancing needs to be completed and helium turned on in Penn.

Yeah, noticed it today too. Well. I guess it does what it says on the
package? Not sure if it's useful or annoying yet though... : \

If it is what I'm expecting it to be it should be helpful to get evidence on people docking with stations they shouldn't without having to fun Fraps and upload videos.

It's very useful actually. To prove that someone docked when he shouldn't (like LPI denying a smuggler to dock at manhattan) or that docked somewhere he shouldn't dock at all.

i dont think need it at all, it just spams the message screen, admins already know whos docked where and when, if someone docks when they shouldnt and its reported the admins know if they have or not

its just good to hear the docking message, dont to read it

I doubt admins have the time to go and check if a person is docked or not...
Also, the person might move away to get rid of evidence.
You need evidence to report someone, the message helps by giving you evidence. With the message,it is easier to prove that a person has,for example, provoked an LPI officer and docked with an LPI base.
With the message, you don't need to spam the report with pictures. And less stuff to upload to whichever website you use to post pictures.

no the admins dont spend all their time to see whos docked and where, they also dont need evidence that someones docked (think about it, how can a complaining player prove that someones docked, you cant see him and hes not on the "y" list)

admins know more than you think about whats going on and where and by who

eg, so if you say someones docked at a station and approx when, they only have to quickly look on the server player list logs, itll show, at that time and can see where he/she/it was

have you looked down the sanction page, they also know when someone tries to delete a ship trying to avoiud a sanction, they know everything what goes on in the server, thats why theyre called admins!

ADMINS SEE ALL :crazy::secret:

I am disapointed it's just another update to report people more easily...

Not really. Requesting to dock doesn't imply that you actually have docked. Message appears every time you press F3 even if you abort docking afterward.
