i just re installed freelancer with a different disk than i used the first time i installed the game and now when i boot the gam it says version 1.0 in the corner instead of 4.84. How do i update my game to to version 4.84?

I am going to go out on a limb and guess you don't have Discovery installed? If that is the case you will need to first download Discovery here:

And Freelancer Mod Manager here:

And it is also recommended that you use Korrd's Freelancer Account manager as well, found here:

Did you make sure that you had activated Discovery as well as loading it in FLMM?

Did you remove the FL folder after uninstalling it? If you dont, and then re-install it, youll get into trouble most of the time.

a am NOT running vista! I deleted the folder and ran the mod manager and it still says version 1.0.

Just for the sake of clarity, have you used Discovery before? And did you make sure to activate Discovery?

yes i have used it before, I've been playing for a couple of months and i just reloaded my pc.
