Liberty Armed Forces
I have a dream...
When the discovery community in Liberty is not seperated by Navy, Police or Security Forces, but instead something under the same banner. Liberty Armed Forces.
In-game...
Navy is all Warship RP-ing characters, Gunboats and above. [LAF]-N
Air Force is all Light Fighter -> Super Fighters RP-ing characters. [LAF]-AF
Army is all Forum RP-ing characters. However, Army Aviation Core is Light Fighters -> Super Fighters Support RP. [LAF]-AC
Engineer Core is all Combat Repair RP-ing characters. [LAF]-EC
Security Force is all Intelligence agent RP-ing characters. [LAF]-SF
Military Police is all Light Fighter -> Heavy Fighter MP RP-ing characters. [LAF]-MP
Transportation Core is all Military Transport RP-ing characters. [LAF]-TC
- I was thinking of an actual faction, but I am now thinking more along the lines of a general community group. Free joining etc.
I don't have time to add more information, I will tomorrow. Thoughts?

What role can this "faction", "community group" or "however else you might want to name it" fulfill that the current structure of [LN], LPI- & =LSF= is lacking?

What about having something like this:
[LAF]-F ... Fighter/Bomber Division
[LAF]-C ... Capital Ship Division
[LAF]-P ... Police Forces
[LAF]-S ... Supply/Support Division
[LAF]-I / [LAF]-X ... Intelligence Division
Of course, the abbreviations can be altered, but something like this should reduce confusion. At least from my point of view ^^

Its how all armed forces are across the globe, different bodies for different jobs/locations.
I don't want a private in the US army being my local cop.

They are too few. They have limited RP, and don't allow more much expansion. I was thinking this idea, could allow more in-depth adaptable military RP to space, I know I would certainly enjoy this change. Wondering if others feel the same.

No.
Edit: No one needs to be a leader in this idea, its totally free. (Thats the current plan anyway). For example no one is in charge of the LNS...

If you're ...well, we don't talk about what the LSF does.
I feel like all of your proposed divisions can easily fit within the existing structure.
