I tried it.
The admins on that server are pretty much crap.
I was talking to an admin in-game, making suggestions on things to improve. He told me to stop using PM's, to use system chat instead. I said "alright, but isn't that kind of OORP?" He said there were no RP rules there.
I still didn't like the idea of using system chat for that, but he insisted I had to, so I did.
Then he submitted several reports to himself to use as an excuse to ban me, and formally accused me of "flaming and ranting in system chat".
I also noticed that he deleted any of my posts on the forums that actually had solid reasoning behind them, and just attempted to insult me and accuse me of things I hadn't done.
What a tool, he ought to just learn how to take criticism, that's the only way to improve something.
Anyway, if you thought the discovery community on the main server made the gameplay less enjoyable, you have no idea how much the crossfire community makes the game unenjoyable...

The only good thing about Crossfire are the enhanced textures/effects.

I went back onto the server to give it a second chance.
He was reading all of my PM's, and then started threatening me because I referred to him as a "moron" while talking to somebody else in PM's. If he hadn't been eavesdropping he would never have heard anything to be offended by in the first place. And even if I were to go up and call him a moron to his face, that's still a very minor insult, and nothing to ban over, especially after the way he'd been treating me before, how could he expect me to regard him as anything but a moron?
Seriously, the dude needs to swallow his ego and stop abusing his power.

...tho PvP system and Inner Core runs make it better.
The problem is there is no mass community:| ~20 ppl really active on forums. Hopefully 2.0 will change it- everything looks pretty impressive...

Ahh SWAT_OP-R8R, an interesting chap with many good ideas, but also a bit inflexible if questioned. But that is not unusual in the FL community. He has however much bigger horizons and the SWAT Portal has many facets/games.
He has been around a long time and has made enemies within the community, on occasion by claiming tutorials, ideas and initiatives as his own. He has however invested a lot in the community and this is sometimes forgotten.
Similarly some of the "staff" are less that perfect, but again not uncommon.
It is an interesting mod with some well executed features, fierce NPC's and does not have some of the big ship and docking problems we have, but does have others.
And probably best to say hi as I have little doubt he is on most extant FL forums.
