So, in theory, Daumann mining has two awesome commodities to mine: the safe-to-mine Copper Ore and the risky but rewarding Uncut Diamonds.
I'm not complaining about the price of Copper Ore, but I'm complaining about the fact that we cannot trade it at all since we are Hostile to Liberty.
Then comes the alternative, Uncut Diamonds. I remember when we were testing the mining system, a couple of us (the only fellow members I can remember being part of this are Dusty and JihadJoe) would mine Uncut Diamonds non-stop. It was dangerous: radiations would mean our turrets would fall off if we were too greedy, the RHA were standing on their toes, ready to rush at us at any moment as we were in the middle of nowhere, and Das Wilde always was a potential threat. The only rival there was to this market was the Gold fields of Dublin. But right now, it is a joke. Uncut Diamonds are worth a lot, lot less than they used to be worth, and it simply isn't worth mining them for all the risk they represent. Omega-11 is part of the border world, there are little to no military patrols there, and these operations are so costly that Daumann must employ slaves to do their job. But, the measly price of the ore doesn't compensate for the radiation and whatnot, especially when considering that Gold Ore pays more per unit. As a result, it makes Dublin, or even Tau-23, much safer alternatives to these mining fields.
So, we have one ore, Copper Ore, we can't have any profit whatsoever from, and which is supposed to be Daumann's safe/less rewarding alternative to Uncut Diamonds, (it even teases us by being one of the highest selling ore!) and you have the most dangerous minefield of Sirius giving away worthless rocks.
Please fix Daumann fields, their mining situation is quite ridiculous right now. Perhaps other Rheinland mining factions need a fix, that much I'm unaware.
EDIT: I was notified that Daumann does have a sale point for Copper ore in Bretonia. My mistake. The second point still very much stands.

I am inclined to agree Lady, the fields of Omega 11 are a radiated hell compared to the pristine lands of Dublin. Just a short comparison of the two is enough to make me shudder at it. Looking at the negatives for Omega 11, even though it is plentifull it won't take long for someone to go investigate that lone person in Omega 11 and see if there is a rip payday just floating around in there. You are very alone and very vulnerable and if it gets more popular than it is now there will be a lot of people just waiting for someone to wonder into there. I'm sorry Igiss/Jo/? I just don't see the value of going there for a lower pay out that requires I invest in my personnel saftey at this time.
Dublin Positives:
- No radiation
- Gold best value per unit
- Heavy BPA and BAF patrols
- Close route proximity - 4 systems to go through at a 15minute delivery time
- Corsairs
- Mollies
- Avengers/das wilde (their both rather infrequent at best)
- Mines (Hardly a con to a miners shield but fighters have a bit of a hassle nothing more)
- You are alone
- Uncut diamonds are plentiful
- 7949 per unit of diamonds (pay an escort to defend you/pay pirate taxes, repair costs, and maybe not loose your cargo to a greedy pirate)
- Radiation
- Repairs from radiation
- Hessians
- Das Wilde
- Corsairs
- LWB (I have seen them in there)
- SCRA
- Few Military or Polizie patrols
- Long delivery route (6 systems to go through) - Fastest route takes you through pirate country

If that's the point, then not really. I'm comparing Daumann mining fields to other mining fields, not trade routes.

Sell copper to indie smugglers or blockade runners it could be worth it. As for diamonds o11 is pretty much dead every time i log in. lone miner will make it with bit of risks.

Diamond ore buy price needs to be increased to make mining in o-11 worthwhile. Either that or the drop rate. I can do nothing but agree with the premise of this thread. The profits need to compensate for the losses by radiation.

I agree with the others regarding the uncut diamonds. It's just not worth it anymore. At all.
