Discovery is RP server, right? - The Damned - 01-28-2006 I think that being an RP server Discovery allows piracy. And from being that I think when disrupting a train and asking for a ransom in terms of sparing the life of the victim I expect a lil more co-operation. But hiding in a base and saying that u have no $$$ when u are in a train for 20mils and have done aleady at least 1 course.... I won't tell the guys name but, I am posting 'cause I want your opinon. I mean law guys attack us on sight in their systems , but traders never want to pay even i caught in the corner... this takes all the fun for us - no profit only bein' hunted. Discovery is RP server, right? - marauder - 01-28-2006 Maybe this is why no Pirate factions last long, people either refuse to pay or switch character and blast the pirate. COME ON! One train run can cover loses to a pirate easily. Discovery is RP server, right? - Kane - 01-28-2006 It is a role-play server. I think i've been caught by a pirate a coupple of times (As Kane, my trader) since i've been here. I don't remember one of them, but I do remember Cardimine. He disrupted the tradelane and said "Give me 1 million credits and i'll spare your life." I handed over the million. On that run, I easily compensated for the loss. Ney Tokyo wasn't far away from me, and I only lost 1 out of the 6 or 7 I get from selling Diamonds on New Tokyo. I really don't understand why some traders feel the need to be miserly, especially when they could have given 4 or even 5 million and still made a profit. It blows my mind. It really does. Some of you can run, and that's fine. But landing at the clostest station and complaining about how you have no money is not fine. That's just sad. Me? I plan on being cooperative; they don't ask for a lot, and it saves me from some trouble. As I told him - I'm not after u, I'm after your $$$ - asking for 2 mils isnt much. I sayed that if he dosent have them then he can give me all his $$$ adn i wont touch him... He got in bigger trouble now... Discovery is RP server, right? - Timber Wolf - 01-28-2006 What I usually do is I run to New Berlin at which time I switch to my fighter (if he's there). There's two sides which I am torn between: reality and RP. In reality, you pirates are just other players with myself, and you want to have fun too. When I switch to my fighter and you've got the whole of Rheinland after you already, i'm sure it doesn't help your situation. Then there's RP. You're a pirate, and therefore denying you and wasting your time/killing you is a good thing. Anything necessary to rid the system of another pirate, right? You're scourges. *shrugs* Discovery is RP server, right? - The Damned - 01-28-2006 U wont be able to get to NB, especially when dsrupted... Discovery is RP server, right? - Timber Wolf - 01-28-2006 In my experience trains don't get disrupted. Discovery is RP server, right? - Wolfpack98 - 01-28-2006 Timber Wolf: This is a RP server.. reality really doesn't factor in very much unless what other players are doing is disrupting the "fun" on the server. A lot of people have different concepts of fun. Take for example: Dab. He loves to shoot things up. Blow up battleships, kill other players. Your average bloodthirsty individual with an ego. :-) Sam Loves to Role-Play, doesn't necessarily like to kill everything in sight Me Prefer to fly around, just live up the character and maybe do a lot of trading if I can get the energy to do so. SO, basically, we're talking about different versions of fun. For the Damned, he likes to pirate. Okay. Fine. He catch me, i'll fork over the millions or die trying to defend. For those who run to a station and say "I don't have the money"... That's just pure cowardice. In a large train or armored freighter, you can EASILY recoup the losses. Just fork the money over or risk blowing up. Discovery is RP server, right? - The Damned - 01-28-2006 DIfference in things makes it all interesting...and accepting the differences too. Discovery is RP server, right? - Timber Wolf - 01-28-2006 I know it is, and that's jsut the point, I may be disrupting the pirate's fun. |
