So I've been experimenting with the barge lately, and I love it. I still don't see why people hate it so much, and I've never been in love with a ship like this before. :ylove:
But yeah, I've tried docking with jumpgates and it works pretty easily, so long as the NPCs don't bump you. However, I discovered this glitch where you can approach the top of the jumpgate and hit dock, and it will dock you automatically without having to wait for the jumpgate to open.
I'm not sure how you would fix this, but I thought I'd report it anyway. Fixing the hitbox on the barge should work - some of the barge doesn't have a hitbox yet. Or you could not fix it, it's not that major however nontheless, it is a bug. I don't think it's been reported yet, but correct me if I'm wrong. =)

Congratulations, you've discovered quickdock.
The QD point on the barge is the nose of the Gull underneath it.

I knew that awhile ago. It didn't take long to figure out. I've docked with many types of bases so far.
What I didn't know is that you could manipulate it for docking with jumpgates in such a manner.

I doubt that, cause when npc collide with you, you have a good chance to stay in position when your partly in the ring/JG. Outside the ring you are going to tumble "somewhere" and you have to reposition all over with good chance of some npc make you tumble again and again befor your come close again to jump.
