The situation in Omega-7 - Sturmwind - 04-26-2011 Omega-7 has always been a troubled region due to opposing interests living next to each other, but it appears that the tensions between Rheinland and the Independent Miners Guild have reached the level of open conflict. The timeline of recent events via forum RP is as follows: RDA debating the property rights of Daumann in the lower Omega-7 region, the Bundestag announces its will of annexation as a result. First public notice of annexation (open channel). Rheinwehr deployment orders. Official notice of annexation by the Bundestag / enacted traffic policies (open channel). IMG request of assistance to the RHA / RF IMG request of collaboration with the GMG IMG notice of the first fallout, IMG annexation claims of upper Omega-7. Rheinwehr report of the first fallout (#1599) Rheinwehr policies against the IMG / CR enacted, open conflict Colonial / RM agreement on the neutrality of refugee transports CR request of cooperation to the RHA / RF Rheinland ban on IMG shipping Red Hessian broadcast interpreting the situation that ensued IMG warning about the situation in Omega-7 Colonial orders of deployment / engagement (#129) IMG rules of engagement (iRP) Now, in order to avoid any illusions, I must clarify that this conflict is happening in total collaboration between the IMG, the CR and the RM. The existence of this thread is a result of an agreement between the leaderships of the respective factions. Agreements on the zone of engagement, where IMG / CR and Rheinland forces openly engage each other have been also discussed. Please follow it for the sake of positive environment and fairness. So far the area of engagement is Omega-7 only. Here's a nav map to ease your understanding: ![]() It should be self-evident, the upper part of the system is claimed by the IMG alongside the CR and the lower part is claimed by Rheinland. Elbich and Briesen along with the Stuttgart gate have been reinforced by the Rheinwehr, while Freistadt and the Omega-3 gate have been reinforced by the IMG / CR. The zone bordered by white is the main area of engagement, but of course fights can be made elsewhere within the system as well. Now, for the sake of fairness, we have also agreed on the following, and this is important: [color=#FF0000]IMG and CR forces will base off from Aaland in Omega-3 and retreat there if seen fit. [color=#33CC00]RM and Rheinland forces will base off from Planet Stuttgart / Battleship Karlsruhe and retreat there if seen fit. I'd really appreciate if we'd also refrain from base hugging and while I understand it may easily occur, ganking should also be avoided if possible. Now, as for the purpose of this thread: Since it's hard to keep track of all the developments occurring and the conflict will be most likely only temporary, I posted this up so that everyone can get an OORP insight on the situation at hand. I'll update the first post as stuff is developing, you may post if you have questions but as soon as it shifts into drama and bickering, I'll request a close. What not to post and we will ignore: - "The RM conspired this whole thing and the IMG wants none of it!"-> Untrue, as I mentioned and the IMG /CR leaders can confirm, we're collaborating regarding the matter. - "The RM / IMG has no power to go into a conflict with each other!"-> While iRP only a negligible proportion of the IMG / RM is actually deployed into this situation, that's exactly the reason why it's only a temporary standoff. - "The poor indies! You official factions are the material form of selfishness and cruelty!"-> As I said, this is only a temporary standoff. There's also the possibility for you to smuggle the ore in, and amendments regarding ore supplies to Rheinland are being discussed now. Go mine somewhere else in the meantime. - "How will the situation carry on?"-> It'll be decided, I / we will keep you updated. The situation in Omega-7 - Linkus - 04-26-2011 O shi- Just to re-iterate, folks on all sides agreed to this. Now to get my Pytho ready. The situation in Omega-7 - Jack_Henderson - 04-26-2011 *signed* (Director of Trade IMG|) Let's have some good fun. =) The situation in Omega-7 - SnakThree - 04-26-2011 Does any hauling to Bretonia side without breaking Rheinland Laws will get looked down and shut (shot) down? In my case, IC| for instance. The situation in Omega-7 - Sturmwind - 04-26-2011 ' Wrote:Does any hauling to Bretonia side without breaking Rheinland Laws will get looked down and shut (shot) down? In my case, IC| for instance. Not for now, not by the RM. The situation in Omega-7 - Pinko - 04-26-2011 ' Wrote:Does any hauling to Bretonia side without breaking Rheinland Laws will get looked down and shut (shot) down? In my case, IC| for instance. My guess is that yes, but later on. EDIT: Ninja'd. The situation in Omega-7 - Mao - 04-26-2011 Nice presentation. Have fun in O-7, guys! The situation in Omega-7 - DarthBindo - 04-26-2011 What about hauling to and from Friedstadt? The situation in Omega-7 - AeternusDoleo - 04-26-2011 You missed my request for cooperation to the GMG (with the possibility of cutting the last trade artery Rheinland has left) and subsequent polite rejection of it. Shame, that'd have been one strategic checkmate... But! An accurate timeline, and useful for people needing a quick reference. Anyway, any neutral transports will end up going into a warzone - if you're spotted docking to Freistadt by the RM, they'll likely confiscate your cargo - if you're carrying supplies to Rheinland the IMG/CR is likely going to turn you back. Bottom line: If noone sees you noone's the wiser. Just be cautious and know that the lanes are a potential hazard right now. I can't speak for everyone else involved but I'll likely just turn folks back instead of shooting folks down. Neither the IMG, Colonials, Kruger/Daumann or RM are pirates and we won't behave as such. [Edit] This is basically a scrim over resources, nothing more, nothing less. Rheinland trying to push IMG out and their own corporations to higher production - and the IMG resisting this fiercely. For folks that are now cut off from hauling niobium - just retag your transports to Samura or ALG ID or such. The situation in Omega-7 - Panzer - 04-26-2011 Since I apparently got appointed as the miner-sided warlord, here's essentially what I'll have the troopers do. I never been big on RP, but I figure this all will make best RP sense. SO READ YE MAGGOTZ As per Alec's proposal - we base of Aland and Aland only. we cruise around o7, get there from whichever angle you please and roam around - first objective is wrecking or otherwise getting rid of whatever Rhinelanders try and stay at Fstadt, second objective is the standard "Rply inferior" drill you know from the Taus. Targets are any agents of the house government and corporate employees - Official, unofficial, indie and wild. Third objective is RPly keeping Freistadt's supply line open - you escort shipments of portable and heavy weapons (whatever commodity that can work as armaments the garrison can use) and more basic supplies (food, water, air) coming IN and civilian evacuees OUT (because they're otherwise a liability). Fourth and last objective is sealane interdiction so to speak. Whatever tries going INTO Rhineland through the conflict zone is to be presumed trading with(therefore supporting) the enemy state. Turn them around and if they don't cooperate - sinkem. Be it Bowex, Samura, Interspace or The Army of Slavation. All this you will do in co-op with the locals, IMG| holds legal power over the NPC holding in the area by merit of officiality and the ultimate say is theirs. ICMG has the factual authority delegated over by merit of local focus, means it's their show if no bigger IMG| is on the scene or wishes to intervene. CR is doing the real work because as opposed to the previously mentioned two, we RPly and factually are the army. As auxiliaries there's Hessians and coalitioners - you use their help because it's in their long-term interest to stick some needles up the Kanzler's behind. It's NOT an alliance, it's a co-belligerence. (Vide relations between Germany and Finnland during the continuation war of 1942 if you don't get the term) One last thing, Keep calm no matter what happens, if you win, fine, if they win - also fine, because no fight is relevant to the warscore. There IS no warscore. Sure, givem a run for their money, show, that the Taus taught you this and that, but don't make a big deal of it. Alec & Co aren't the category of people that deserve hate. Can't think of a more explicit instruction for now. |
