Memories... - Immunity - 04-29-2011 Part 1
A man in the shadow behind the light in a terribly dark room slapped down a single file with only one piece of paper in it. "Well..." He said while lighting a cigarette. "That's all I got on ya." pulling the lighter away, he cocked his head in a direction towards Exavier with a almost pleased look on his face. Exavier's long fingers stretched out to the folder, and lifting it while holding his breath opened it just to find the report of the recruit who had found him wondering about inside a corsair fighter. Biting his bottom lip lightly he looked back at the man's shadowed face with bright blue eyes, with a hint of lavender in them. "Uhhmmm..." He murmured nervously. The man leaned a little more forward pulling the cancer stick from his mouth cocking his head to the right, looking down at the open folder to the police report, and then back up to Exavier's face. "Well? Have anything to say about yourself?" He stayed in that position with both his arms crossed under him as support for his back still leaned forward and inhaled the cigar into his mouth once more, before blowing it out to the side. Exavier was shaking nervously. "C-can I have something...to drink? Please?" He simply asked while the man stared at him curiously with his bright blue eyes. He leaned back quietly, putting the cigarette in his mouth once more inhaling, while his arms reached out in front of himself with a pitcher of water, and a metal glass. Putting both of them down, with a rather calm mood slid the cup up to Exavier where then both Exavier's hands were both on the cup. He was polite enough to not let the water run down the sides of his mouth drinking the whole thing down almost at once finishing with a large sigh of relief. His eyes started to dart around looking at the corners of the table, and the light, and back to the shaded fellow. His mouth opened slightly with both his hands still holding onto the cup for comfort. "I...I found it." He replied timidly with a bit of raspieness in his voice. The room was quite warm and humid, but the looks of his chapped lips he must have been dying of thirst. "The ship." The man commented. Exavier nodded enthusastically. "Start from the begining." He simply said with both his arms crossed, and leaned back in his chair smoking the blue florescent cigaret. Exavier wasn't quite sure what the man meant from 'the begining.' and sat there with a blank stare. "Don't try my patience, I'll be here all day if I have to..." The start...the start?...what did he mean by...ohhh Then it had hit a light bulb in his slowly starting to work brain. "The start..." His head looked down. Memories...flashes of memories at first came before his consciousness. Green...it was the first thing to come to his mind. Then landscapes, farms, cities... Slowly he started to put together everything in his head to words. "I..." He was still nervous if he told the man he was a slave, would he just throw him back to them? Did it matter anymore? He was so far away...so very far away from where he knew. "There was a fight." He started, before taking in a large breath of air, as if it were going to be his last moment in this plain of existence, Savoring the clean air. "There was a fight out in my district...on...Malta." He wasn't going to say he was a slave. So he was going to try and get past that subject of who he was. "The fight started about ten minutes before I noticed it. There was shouting, yelling and then suddenly loud noises, and a huge explosion. One of the mills...something happen to it, I don't know." He frowned his brows thinking as hard as he could. Going back into his memories as they slowly unraveled. There was a large cloud of purple haze expanding over the field Exavier stood in, feeling the air being pushed past him with some force. "Exavier! Exavier!" Shouted a young woman about his age swinging her hands in the air trying to get his attention running into him, pushing him down to the ground. "What what?!" He panicked wide eyed. "Get down that's what!" She said quietly as loud booming sounds of sabres flew low over the field as the purple haze starting to gloom over the two, and shoot down a few mobs of slaves trying to run away. Exavier's adrenalin kicked in, as he started to hyperventilate. "SHH!" She the woman smacked her hand over his mouth. "Calm down a little, or you might just kill yourself!" She gritted her teeth, and yanked him up by the shirt after she jumped back up. They were in a thick haze, and she tore her sleeve off to breath into it with her mouth, and tore the other one off to put it on Exavier's mouth. She then quickly motioned for him to follow her. Whatever had been in that haze seriously hit him hard. His balance went loopy, and it was a strong stingy smell, causing him to feel almost sick, and slowed down vision. His breathing was kept steady as he could, when suddenly he was yanked back down to the ground Not sure what had happened, and not even caring anymore as his entire vision had became heavily orange shaded. His right ear was against the ground as he heard thudding of large amount of footsteps in the ground. It was possibly the most horrible five minutes of his life hearing gunshots from laser pistols, and footsteps so close, while all his senses were drugged beyond belief. The haze started to clear up as fast as it was made after the experience of total helplessness. Gasping for the biggest breath of air he could as he noticed that it was easier to breath, he was pulled back up yet again by the woman who he had forgotten was even there, and she tried yelling at him, but his ears were shadowed by voices...memories of voices that had already past...His Mother's, father's...other people he had known. He couldn't understand what they were saying, it was all gibberish to him. Being dragged though the wilted fields. Exavier did his best to stay up stumbling over his own feet time to time, while more ships ran over his head. He got a glimpse of one staring at it...the magnificent orange glow from them, and the sun...like an angle coming from heaven. He reached his right arm up trying to reach it...he wanted to tough it so badly. In that moment of peace...he almost understood what those voices had been saying in his head, only to have been yanked back to the cold brutal reality of where he was at this moment. The woman...she was yelling at him again...he couldn't hear her thou, it was all to quite now. She was yanking, and pushing at his shirt, and finally smacked him across the face as hard as she could, causing his senses to come back with a vengeance. The orange vision was still there, but his nose stang terribly, his ears rang loudly, but he could hear, and his head was giving him a terrible ache like no other he had before. "You stupid idoit! You got alot of it in your system!" She then yanked him forward starting to run towards the rather large transport ship that she had been heading for this entire time it was scheduled for take off today, and had been sitting there all day to transport cardimine. More loud noises boomed over his head as more bombers combed the field for escaping slaves. A light fighter landed right in front of them cutting them off. There was a cold look of a masked pilot staring at them, and the cockpit opening. The man jumped out as fast as he could, and the young woman who was leading Exavier around had already dashed forward to get into a fight with him. While he tried pulling his pistol out she pushed him against the ship, and Exavier was chasing after her. "Alexa! Don't get hurt please!" Just at the end of it, The sound of that dreaded weapon went off...the hair on the back of his neck stood up, and he stood completely still, to see a scorch mark on the Woman. The Outcast pilot tried to push her off, but the hole in her stomach apparently wasn't enough. She quickly grabbed the man's gun from his own hands, and smashed the barrel into his visor shooting it two times screaming as loud as she could. Exavier panicking still running towards her, finally getting to her. She quickly spun around holding the pistol up to Exavier's face with a fierce expression starling him. "Please, don't be hurt! i won't know what to do if you can't be around!" Exavier exclaimed, before she smacked him upside the head gently with the pistol in her hand, only using her fingers. "You idoit, you think a pistol can hurt me?" She said in a raspy voice. "Ow ow ow!" He held down on his head as it throbbed from the cardimine overdose. "Ahh don't do that! Lets just go before more come! Please!" He cried out, and looked up to see Alexa already climbing into the cockpit, and held her hand out for him. Exavier looked back at the whole field being pummeled, with barrages of bomber weapons, and troop surging. "But what about the oth-" He was cut off as Alexa had snaked her hand to his right shoulder yanking him upwards. "There's no time!" Was all she mustered out, cringing while the pain in her stomach stung. Exavier was quick to follow her up into the one seated dagger. "Do you know how to fly these?!" Exavier asked in a panicked haste. "No but I'll find out now, wont I, now sit down!" Quickly he huddled behind the seat where the only open area was for it while she closed the cockpit. "See that wasn't so hard." She sighed with relief, before starting to press buttons, and accidentally firing a blaster into the transport in front of themselves. The explosion from it hitting the un-shielded transport created a new set of problems for the both of them. "Oops..." She simply replied, not caring much as that was the slaver's ship. But on the communication channel they started hearing that their ship was classified as stolen, and a target to be destroyed. A bomb hit right next to them suddenly, and Alexa panicked starting to press all kinds of buttons, and turned on cruise engines while still in atmosphere. "Hold on!" She exclaimed holding her own breath while they suddenly started flying straight across along the planet pushing out out with much force nearly breaking their ship, and causing Exavier to pass out before they left atmosphere...While still under the cardimine's influence, he dreamed of only voices, slowly starting to build up louder, and louder, and in numbers till finally a burst of consciousness hit him, opening his eyes wide, and jerking his head forward only to hit the ceiling of the cockpit. "ack!" Alexa jumped, and turned around looking back at Exavier "You finally awake huh?" She asked while he started to look around out the windows. The stars...he never seen them so exposed without atmosphere between them and his eyes. "Woow..." He awed at the sight. He looked back at Alexa with a faint smile on her face. "We...you got away?" He asked a bit wide eyed, and dizzy. "Mmmhmm" She nodded sluggishly. The he finally got a glance outside of the front of the ship, and it was pelted with scorch marks, and missing armor pieces. Moving his eyes upwards he saw the sun, except it wasn't green... "After that..." Exavier slowly looked back up from the left over water in the cup, and stared back at the man much more calmly then he was earlier. "She dropped me off at some space base...that was owned by zoners..." He said with a small remorse on his face. "She paid for someone to take me to a planet in liberty space." He wasn't sure what all these names meant, but it's what these people had called it. "The man got really mad after he found out that the money Alexa used to pay for him was...invalid? " His lips curved slightly, he was about to cry, but he held it back. He wasn't quite a full blown adult by average standards, so being eighteen was a slight excuse for him. "He just left me floating in that asteroid field." He shivered at the thought of just dying out there. His suit that he was left floating in had a corsair insignia on it, and he was found by a lane hacker patrol in a hazy ice field in California. The man putting out his second cigaret slowly clapped his hands together, and took a deep breath in. "Exavier...I've got to say." He said pausing for a moment. "You almost sound like some cardimine crazed junker preaching wild stories, and tall tales." He said with a small curve at the end of his lips. "But that has to be the best story I've heard in a long time." He said lighting up the situation a little. "look, Here's what I got, aether we can just send you out back to where you came from, or you could make a fine new recruit." The officer obviously knew what the answer would be, but was wondering how he would answer. Exavier breathed in quickly looking back at the man almost frightened. Had he no other choice? Well, anything but going back there would be much better! "I-I...I'll...I want to be a recruit!" Exavier exclaimed aloud. "Alright well see about that, tomorrow." The man answered before turning the light off that had been pointing towards Exavier. |
