New Commodity proposal: Tea! - Azan27 - 06-02-2011 Now, when I was flying around New London, I noticed something horribly wrong: There was no TEA! So here's a thought: Add tea as a commodity, make four variations of it, and it can be sold along various house to house trade routes, making visiting other places profitable. It would, in some ways, replicate the vast tea trading networks that existed between Britain, India and the US in the 1700s (Yes, I know it wasn't the "US" until later in the 1700s..) Except now it would include Japan and Germany! So here's the basic idea: There are four kinds of tea. Each house mainly buys and sells a certain type of tea, but the type of tea it mainly consumes is never the same as the tea it produces. Basically: Bretonia makes Spiced Tea, but likes Black Tea Liberty makes Black tea, but likes White Tea Kusari makes White Tea, but likes Green Tea Rhineland makes Green Tea, but likes Spiced Tea So essentially the trade routes would be: Bretonia -> Rhineland -> Kusari -> Liberty -> Bretonia ect..... Tea prices would range from around 200 credits (Selling points) to 800 credits (buying points), with a possible 150~ credit fluctuation within the prices of a single type of tea within a single house (Ex: Kensington shipping platform might sell White tea for 320 credits each unit, whereas Planet Cambridge would sell tea for around 270 credits each unit) Essentially the purpose of this is to simulate a natural trade route that follows diplomatic lines while simultaneously describing a trade route for a commodity that is both in demand but not very RP charged (People might get angry at you for transporting military vehicles, but I doubt they'd yell at you for selling tea!) Circular trade routes like the one I describe that focus on several variations of a basic luxury product are seen throughout history, so why not have one in Sirius? Any thoughts/ constructive criticisms/ permabans are welcome! I can write infocards for each type of tea, as well as work with someone who knows commodity coding to see if the product would work, as well as work on trade balancing with someone more experienced. Also, I honestly have no idea if this is a stupid idea or not, but don't think that my idea for tea is just a random item to get people to move around: It would have a backstory, and it will be important. New Commodity proposal: Tea! - rupturex - 06-02-2011 Interesting idea, and I would like to see tea as a commodity, but 4 types of tea seens to be too much for me. What i would really like to see is beer... I'm tired to fly around just drinking wine *smile*:P. To sum up I would like to see some new types of commodities in general ( all kinds ) and specially those ones that we can use as rp back up like tea, beer, cigarettes, expensive clothes or tissues, music discs, and etc... just a opinion. No thanks I prefer to RP my tea  New Commodity proposal: Tea! - Ingenious - 06-02-2011 1 tea commodity, 1 beer commodity, more points of sale for wine, etc. New Commodity proposal: Tea! - Chase - 06-02-2011 Cardi tea for Outcasts and GC! :P Cute idea but I don't see the point of that many commodities for such a trivial thing. New Commodity proposal: Tea! - Scribbley - 06-02-2011 Purple drank, anyone? New Commodity proposal: Tea! - Swallow - 06-02-2011 interesting idea, but we need to add more different commodities New Commodity proposal: Tea! - Varok - 06-02-2011 ' Wrote:Consumer Goods.
