Preferred Transport - Matsuda-Shingen - 02-14-2008
Thanks to all of you who submitted your thoughts and opinions on the "Transport" topic. It's all been taken into account and it's been much appreciated.
Please submit a vote for your favourite Transport so I (and everyone else) can get a rough idea of what is the best option. Or at least which is the most popular.
Feel free to post a reason for your choice.

liner: most stylish, its both - a home and a transport. its so well armed that only a well experienced pirate attempts to take it down. its a lot more agile than it seems.
downside: you can really only transport passengers, prisoners, slaves, VIPs with it. - other stuff doesn t make sense.

I think the whale is the best. small, fast, easy to handle and 4700 cargo. In 4.83 i had the container transport, 4700 cargo, a lot of turrets, so an excellent transport. Now it has only 4300... so i switched. It has only 1 lvl3 turret, but i never fight in trade ships anyway:D

I voted for Other, because right now I'm flying a pirate transport. It's not the most stylish and it certainly doesn't have the best defense (since it lacks countermeasures) but it's the only ship I felt comfortable flying as a trader with "strong ties to piracy."
If I was a purely lawful trader, my vote would go for advanced train. But I don't have a purely lawful trader, so...

Do you mean the Pirate Train? I fly a Transport myself with my Junker and it's pretty well setup with shooters and a CM/CD dropper.
On that note, for purely commercial reasons I do love my Whale... But for unique styling and pure character I've not been introduced to the ship that bests the Pirate Transport.
I love that ship.

I like the Pirate train the best if I expect to need to run, that thing is beautifully agile.
If not, then the Adv train, just for sheer cargo hauling dominance.
Oh, and the CTrans for Piracy.

Pirate train. Best cargo/cost/revenue ratio and nicest asteroid handling in its class.

Love the Whale. there has been some discussion about eliminating/replacing the Star Wars Ships in Disco. If that happens we need a comparable replacement for the Whale.
Like the Firefly and the Border Worlds Transport.
