Operation: Zermürbung - Radio Freies Rheinland - 07-01-2011 Message to: RHA CC: Red Hessians Comm ID: RHA Oberkommando Operation: Zermürbung
Operation completed RHA-OP-2011071 ![]() Location: RHC Von Rohe, Omega-3 1. Operational aim To further reduce the West-Rheinland fleet's influence in the Omega region and secure our influence in the Upper Omega systems. To ultimately assure the continued independence of the Upper Omega region from any house rule.
2. Details Tensions between Bretonia and Rheinland have been steadily rising in recent months, but not even our best analysts were able to predict that the whole thing would escalate into an armed conflict. But this is not like any other conflict: it is a phony war, neither side has the resources to commit to an actual invasion plan.
However, the Rheinland Military Westliche Hauptflotte is as always extremely confident of its abilities, and this gives us a unique opportunity to thin their ranks even more. The Military admiralty has been sending battleships from Stuttgart into Omega-7 and Omega-3 in order to "secure the area", having learned exactly nothing from their conflict with the IMG. While their signature "brick wall" tactic (stacking battleships in covering arcs of fire) is extremely effective in a head on fight, this time around we will not be the main target. This operation will be concerned mostly around navigating the Military straight into the hands of the Bretonian Armed Forces, so that we can take out as many Military ships as possible while they are fighting the Cambridge defenders. Armed Forces ships, while previously known to define their targets erratically, will for the duration of this mission be considered as non-action. 3. Key objectives Legend: Completed objective, Objective in progress, Objective pending
***
The operation will be marked as completed once all the above objectives have been carried out. Further objectives may be added as the situation unfolds. 4. Expected aftermath Given the level of contact from organisations looking forward to our involvement, any outcome other than complete and utter failure on our part will successfully expand our influence in the Upper Omega region. This operation should help us successfully rid Omega-7 of the excess Military forces stationed there, as they are moved to enforce a phony blockade in Omega-3.
A side result of this will be a further gravitation of the IMG toward our cause, and hopefully their declaration of support for our movement. The Omega-3 Zoners will also join the ranks of those who are indebted to us, alongside Freeport 9 Zoners. This will let us expunge the Corsair influence from Omega-3 even further. Post diplomatic and important reports here so that the operational table can be updated. All battle reports however should still be posted in the Message Dump. Good luck, kameraden. Operation: Zermürbung - Blodo - 07-01-2011 Message to: Red Hessians Comm ID: Major Gunther Hoerst, RHA SOA Location: Freital, Omega-11 Kameraden, Here's the next big one we've been waiting for. And right in time too, I have already ordered preparations for the next stage of attrition warfare. The Military will carry on playing into our hands like that, and we'll have Omega-7 to ourselves by the end of this year. The Zoners have called on us to deliver support. The Oberkommando has promised them that we will oblige. Omega-3 Zoners can be powerful allies if we want to kick the Corsairs out of there, so lets make sure they consider us as the good guys - don't push them around. Regards, Hoerst Operation: Zermürbung - Blodo - 07-06-2011 Message to: Red Hessians Comm ID: Major Gunther Hoerst, RHA SOA Location: Freital, Omega-11 The Bretonian statement of support has just come through. We can start slowly moving to the second phase of the operation. A meeting with Mollys has been scheduled to discuss the latter part of the plan. Regards, Hoerst Operation: Zermürbung - Blodo - 09-26-2011 Message to: Red Hessians Comm ID: Major Gunther Hoerst, RHA SOA Location: Freital, Omega-11 Due to lack of developments, and the Bretonians and Rheinland Military both paying a price for this border conflict, Operation Zermürbung has been called off. The operation's aftermath is close enough to what we can consider favourable. The Corsairs made at best an attempt at influence, and failed to leave any marks. Both navies have managed to damage each other, and their respective losses at their other fronts forced them to leave the Omega systems further undefended. As a final gain, we have managed to convince Bretonia to publicly support our movement. Although this measure of support predictably faded the moment the state of war between Bretonia and Rheinland officially ended, we continue to enjoy free access to Bretonian space. Although this is not something that helps us significantly, it does allow our transport captains to worry less on their way to Liberty when using that route. The Oberkommando will discuss on how long we keep this treaty going. We can certainly expect Bretonia to break it the moment it suits them. As it stands our forces should simply avoid BAF forces in the Omega systems, regardless of their situation. Ask your commanders for further information regarding the state of the agreement. Regards, Hoerst |
