Low levels and contraband - SimonBlack - 02-17-2008 I met a guy called SkinnStar. He was lvl 5 smuggling Counterfeit Software. I did not busted him of course, but said that I would if he'd be level 30. The guy calimed that he was killed by both navy and police for contraband while being below lvl 30 numerous times. So what I ask is.. Are below level players immune to smuggling or not? Low levels and contraband - Jinx - 02-17-2008 they are not immune to being roleplayed at. - but they are immune to being shot down. - so, you can tell him how wrong he is and how much it violates the law, but you cannot attack him in anyway or deny him docking whatever. ... the below 30 levels are meant to get used to the rules, laws and roleplay slowly. - so all you can do it hope that he ll take it all in and knows it once he hits 30. that doesn t mean that he ll stop smuggling at 30, but he should know that its not allowed in a roleplaysense. Low levels and contraband - Robert.Fitzgerald - 02-17-2008 I believe that house authorities should roleplay punishing the under-30 smuggler but not kill them/fine them. They could roleplay not fining them by saying "your fine will be sent when we finish our other paperwork", ie not being sent in LPI's case. It's good to see under-30s roleplaying as unlawfuls. The less BHG-battlecruiser players we get, the better. By not punishing them with (frankly) ridiculous fines, we can nurture them instead of sending them packing... Low levels and contraband - Wombat - 02-17-2008 He didnt just get cooked by some Npc's for smuggerling did he? Low levels and contraband - SimonBlack - 02-17-2008 I dont think so. He seemed rather sensible. Although Im trying to re-think this possibility now... Could have been. Anyway, all I wanted was rule clarification and you answered it fully. Low levels and contraband - pchwang - 02-17-2008 Personally, I get extremely annoyed at the people who blatantly break faction laws and get away with it by saying that they are under level 30. But then again, there really is nothing we can do about it. Low levels and contraband - ScornStar - 02-17-2008 Treat under levels like the real police (at least in America treat minor) slap on the wrist and if there is a superior around forward the fine/sentence to the underlevels superior/ finacier. Other wise sound slike a good idea to fund low level frieghter to run contra band, I wont of course. Low levels and contraband - MB52 - 02-17-2008 When I catch under level smugglers I put on a campaign of fear and intimidation. Trying to force them to drop the cargo. Of course, theres nothing I can do if they refuse, but I somehow manage to avoid telling them that. =P Low levels and contraband - pchwang - 02-18-2008 Scorn, that's a great idea. It's a pity that most of the factionized under level players are actually, for the most part, intelligent enough not to do those things. Most of the problems come from the people who don't RP and aren't registered on the forums. mb52, that works as long as the other person doesn't go: HUHHH!!! I NO LIZTEN, BCAUZ YOU KANT DO NOTHIN I UNDR LVL 30!!!11111!!! LOLZ But, yep. I had a idea recently. I know it's against the rules to keep your char under level 40 purposely for combat, but why not have a low level police faction!??! Low levels and contraband - onca - 02-18-2008 That's all right, their name just goes onto a list.... and soon as they reach L.30, it's "cough up the $2m per offence or say hello to Mr.Flak!" |
