Why dont we have them? One could argue that space is litterally run by the corporations, whether its GMG or USI. I for one would like to see some corporate influence in space as well. Whether its floating above a station, or at the start of a trade lane. It could be used to advertise official corporate factions within the area, or enlistment areas for the local navy.

Here is a example of something I just quickly put together, with my OCU sig below. Now, its all just for a example, but more would be put into it with better models, and perhaps some moving objects like that of a station, with a rotating dish, and ads that switch.

Now, the question is how to change the ads? People who are more fimilar with modeling programs could perhaps shed some light on that?

Oh, and if this has been seriously mentioned before, please tell, when searching on the issue all I found were comments on the subject.

The Broken Bonds mod actually does this already. We have ingame billboards for the military groups and numerous corporations, or just products.

Great, so it can be done.

There was a topic already some time ago, but anyway, yes, it would be nice. I don't think we will get it in time.. (pff )

I don't think this is really something that we need. Space might be run by corporations, but not many people actually get into space. We might have learned how to conquer it, but people haven't actually gotten any bigger. Planets are still where the majority of people live and the majority of commercial profits come from. Most of the people in space are either professional or military; very few are private. There just aren't many people who would actually pay attention to that kind of advertisement in space so it just wouldn't really be profitable.

you might be describing the old time in freelancer universe, but today are a lot of privet company "unofficial faction" that can use somthing like this to hire people "new players".

the dev can put somthing in exchange for small ads payment, this could work for the faction that cant get to recruit in forum.

It will also work for unlawfull to put ads for thier othere less iligal operation, like bars and chop shop.

For a small fee of 500,000,000 credits, I could increase your reputation with Developers. You should know that groups like TCG, Aoi Iseijin, and Zoners might look down upon the transaction. How about it?
