Gallic Prison Ship Skirmish Event - fencore - 08-02-2011

I think it'€™s about time to rally the troops. On both sides. This event, spearheaded by the for-now-unofficial GRP faction, is a small effort to bring us all together at the same time and see what sort of chaos we can create in Gallia.

Gallic Prison Ship Event
'€œMayday, mayday! This is prison ship Indomitable of the Gallic Royal Police. We require immediate assistance from all lawful forces in range...'€
Date: Saturday, August 6
Time: 6:00 PM GMT (I would plan on showing up at least 15 minutes prior)
[color=#00CCFF]The Background
The Royal Police Prison Ship Indomitable is in the process of moving a number of captured Maquis and Council agents from Gap Station in Dauphine to Dijon Station in Burgundy for further interrogation. En route, the ship and its escorts were attacked by a wave of Maquis agents and its escorts were overwhelmed. The automated defense grid of the prison ship fended off the initial strike and the Maquis attack wing has pulled back to regroup. Heavy damage suffered in that first wave has disabled the engines of the Indomitable, leaving the prison ship adrift in space.

Radioing for help, the GRP and GRN dispatch fighter wings and freighters of supplies to protect the Indomitable while it repairs. The damage to the ship, however, also extends to the transmission array, which is locked into a system-wide broadcast setting, also informing Council and Maquis assets in the area of the ship'€™s location and predicament. It is here that the skirmish begins.
[color=#00CCFF]The Participants
GRP|Indomitable: Gheis
Although technically allied with the GRP, I will be playing a neutral party and be running the event.

The Lawfuls: Based on Battleship Guillestre, Dauphine
  • Gallic Royal Navy, operating under senior GRN| member and including independents
  • Gallic Royal Police, operating under a senior GRP| member and including independents
  • Gallic Corporations, operating under a senior |IDF member and including independents
The Unlawfuls: Based on Grenoble Depot, Dauphine
  • The Council, operating under a senior [C] member and including independents
  • The Maquis, operating under a senior |Maquis member and including independents
  • Gallic Brigands, operating under a senior +LE+ member and including independents
Additional Parties:
  • Unione Corse players and independents - Based on Valence Base, Dauphine
  • Gallic Freelancers - Based on their employer's home base
[color=#00CCFF]Victory Conditions
[color=#00CCFF]Lawfuls
Primary Victory:
Repair of the Indomitable is accomplished when an Aurochs freighter containing engine components can remain within 5k of the liner without being destroyed for five minutes. Once this occurs, the Indomitable will be able to reengage its engine systems and make way for Burgundy. If the Indomitable reaches Dijon station, the Lawfuls succeed.

If Unlawful forces at any point succeed in transferring the prisoners to their freighter, Lawful forces may attempt to destroy the carrying freighter and return the prisoners to the Indomitable.
Unlawfuls
Primary Victory:
Initially, the unlawful groups will want to rescue their compatriots. Rescue conditions will be similar to the Lawful'€™s repair conditions - if a Courier freighter can remain within 5k of the Indomitable for five minutes without being destroyed, then they will have completed rescue operations. The Indomitable will transfer 40 prisoners to the surviving freighter. The freighter must then return to Grenoble Depot with the prisoners.

Alternate Victory:
In the event that the lawful forces successfully repair the prison ship, this will cut off any chance for a rescue attempt. Being the soldiers they are, Maquis and Council agents know that when they sign up for duty, they may be forced to give their life as well. Once the Indomitable has been repaired, Maquis and Council assets will work to destroy the liner and its occupants. Successful destruction of the liner after it has been repaired will provide the Unlawfuls with a victory.
Alternate Parties
Unione Corse and Freelancers
Being the quasi-lawful element of Gallia, the Unione Corse who wish to participate may sell their services to either the lawfuls or unlawfuls. If either side chooses to pay a Corse, then the Corse will join that side and must fight for that side for the duration of the event. Bidding will take place on the forums prior to the event and concludes one hour before the start of the event, During the event, the Corse will all begin from Valence, but will move to join their respective employers and will share the same victory conditions as those who bought their service.

Freelancers will also be permitted the same, but will start from their employer'€™s home base. Freelancer and mercenary characters to be hired must be of Gallic origin.

The bidding and hiring will be done in this thread. As a third party to the roster (Post #2), there is a list of players seeking employment, and how much they're asking. It's up to the factionized groups on either side to work out a deal.
[color=#00CCFF]The Niggling Details
  • All sides will be limited to LF and HF snubcraft for their defensive wings for balance reasons. Transports will be restricted to freighters - the Aurochs for the Lawfuls and the Courier or Tarvos for the Unlawfuls. The names of the freighters that will be providing support must be clearly noted prior to the start of the event to avoid confusion.
  • If at any time a capturing freighter leaves a 5k range surrounding the Indomitable or is destroyed, the timer will restart. Timer updates will be called over system within a roleplay context so that all parties will know the status. In the event that two freighters from opposite factions are in play, the timers will freeze until the situation is rectified.
  • No spawn camping. Except for Lawful forces trailing a returning Unlawful freighter after a successful rescue, no group is permitted to enter a 10k space surrounding another group'€™s home base.
  • Lawful freighters, we'€™ll have a Vache parked in space near the Lawful HB with Engine components ready, as the nearest pickup point for them is Dijon in Burgundy.
For the sake of a smooth event, we are suspending rules 5.2, 5.6, 5.7, and 5.8 for the duration. This would allow free engagement, respawning and re-engagement of all parties participating in the event without prior RP or engagement notices. It would lend to the realism and help keep things moving at a reasonable pace. Yes, I have admin support on this too.

The Indomitable, piloted by Gheis, will be moved into position prior to the start of the event. Once it has reached its '€œdead'€ position, I will call for silence in system chat just before the start of the event. I recommend each side be in their own group chat by this time, that way you can coordinate and just shoot anything that isn't purple. The Indomitable will not move from its position until Lawful forces have completed repairs, and at no point will I ever fire upon any vessels. It'€™s up to the Lawfuls to secure defense. The Liner will be equipped with a standard UAU8 and a transport shield.

Everyone who wishes to participate, please please please post in here stating your intent, even if you're unsure whether or not you'll actually be able to make it. I'd like to have a reasonable count for what to expect, so give your ship name and faction you're playing as if you can. Corse and Freelancers, if you want to participate, you need to be hired by one of the factonized groups, meaning GRN|, GRP|, [C], or |Maquis. This isn't a free-for-all invitation. Make yourselves appealing.

If there are any questions, please do ask. I'll be happy to clarify, answer, and tweak things as needed.

Gallic Prison Ship Skirmish Event - Daedric - 08-03-2011

Ethan.Mercier (This will be the in game ship name)

An ex-Royal Navy pilot who is now a Reaver. As requested he will not be on any of his Reaver vessels but a new one I have yet to set up. His services will be rendered to the GRN and GRP due to the fact he already works for them and his past. I'll work out the details of being hired with the involved parties.

If things go as planned, Directeur Lucas Gerald will be there in a HF, or running one of the freighters. I will be encouraging other members to join in.

Indies have to be invited, right?

Depends - if you're indie GRP/GRN/Maquis/Council/Brigands, then just throw your name down and what faction you'll be affiliated with and I'll put you on the list. For those factions, the event is freely open to indies.

For Unione Corse players, factionized or not, you have to be "hired" by either side.

Gallic Prison Ship Skirmish Event - Echo 7-7 - 08-03-2011

Uh oh. That translates to 4 AM my time... could be somewhat of a hindrance to my participation.

If I can't make it, then I have a Freighter for the unlawful side that could be used, apart from the fact it is still missing Armour and the appropriate ID/IFF.

Gallic Prison Ship Skirmish Event - Mojogrow - 08-03-2011

[C]-Carl.Tremblay will be ready and waiting for this rescue operation!
I will be flying my Agama to victory!

Gallic Prison Ship Skirmish Event - Jihadjoe - 08-03-2011

Not sure about my avaiability on the 6th. But if I'm around, then I'll gladly join with my GRN|

Ok, then Acadia.Celeste for the GRN, if I can make it.
