So... a- as you p- prolly know, I'm an ind- dependent contract- tor working for y- you as a convoy esc- cort-scout and genera- al merc. S- so... um... I've g- got a probl- lem. S- see, because of... a mist- take one of my oth- ther contract- tors made, I... k- kinda lost my onl- ly means of any k- kind of cargo transp- port. This norm- mally wouldn't be a p- problem, but I'm j- just entering a st- stage where I'm g- gonna have to st- start move m- more and more carg- go. On t- top of that, I've g- got to earn a b- bunch more m- money than I a- am. I g- guess you c- can see where th- this is g- going. I n- need a carg- go ship. A b- big one, too. Act- tually, what I h- had in m- mind specif- fically was a Percheron-c- class transport. I've m- managed these th- things bef- fore, years ag- go, so I kn- know the deal: five c- crew includ- ding shipboard maint- tainance, ar- round f- fifty-thousand a m- month in upk- keep includ- ding fuel and tax- xes (th- though it'll p- prolly be a l- little more without th- the corpor- rate cont- tract), assum- ming it's r- running at ninet- ty-percent activity (which it w- won't be), sp- special Class I l- license to c- captain, and s- so on. I als- so know all ab- bout the differenc- ces in price and q- quality bet- tween the public E-s- series models and the EBs y- you get from the BMM. I w- want an EB. I'll p- pay, obv- viously, but I th- think we'd b- both be better off if I p- paid dir- rectly with my services inst- tead of with the cred- dits I'm getting f- from you anyw- ways. So h- how about it? Sound g- good to you? Transmission ended. Closing transmission... ... Closed. Re-encrypting... ... Repacking... ... Saving... ... Transmission stored in archives. It be good ta speak with ye again lass. I received yer request a wee bit earlier and decided that oi would tackle it right away. If'n oi understand it correctly, ye be wanting Bowex to supply ye with one of our Perchys in exchange fer services on yer contract in lieu of payment. Sounds like a good deal fer us both. Oi not be having any problems with it meself. Oi know ye are requestin BMM's variant EM class. Aye, they be good ships, far above board compared to tha standards that both Bowex and BMM sell on tha open market, but.. Well, based on ye line of work and such, oi suggest one of Bowex's GX variants. They be equipped with military-grade transport technology an' gear. Fully armored. Considerin the work ye been doing fer us and Bretonia, oi donna think tha Transit Authority or the BAF would be havin a problem with us sendin one yer way. The GX variant though, runs roughly 27-29 million fully equipped. If that is what ye be wantin, oi'll have Services get on it right away. It may take a couple days though. Ye'll need to be choosin a name that oi can have Services register her under, oh.. and the type of armament ye want equipped as far as turret weaponry goes. I suggest the smalls meself. Of course, oi'll have ta make sure the deal passes muster with the DO, and make sure ExSec updates ye contract to credit itself the value of tha ship. The ExSec Director is on holiday, but oi doubt tha will be any cause fer delay. Anyway, once ye get back with me on those two details oi'll have Service get started. Once they be done, oi'll have em transfer all the security codes to ye and you'll be able to pick her up. Since this be a..uhh'¦'out of corporate' deal, we'll be deletin all tha codes from our database, so make doubly sure everythin on the ship is what ye want before ye give Services the 'OK' to start erasing stuff out of their files. ----> Audio feed disconnected, message ends Master Scott MacFarlane, Clan MacFarlane Department Manager, Bowex Trade Combine ::::TRANSMISSION TERMINATED::::

To: Yoko Mori, Freelancer, Bowex Contractor From: Bowex Colony Authority and Services By: Services Chief David Jones, Crew 17, Scarborough Station, Newcastle Ref: Perchy Class Vessel: Iliaca Miss Yoko, I'm Jones, David J. You can call me Davey if you wish. I'm the Chief of the crew that worked on your new boat. Just a message to let you know: Job's done. You can pick her up at Scar at anytime. She's out in the holding yard now, stall 6, section 3. She's a beaut too. A real joy to fly, and I dare say we outdone ourselves with her. Had a wee bit of a problem with her IFF.. that's what took it longer than we anticipted and it still might not be workin right. Only place to get the right codes is Barrier Gate I thinks, and they weren't too helpful across coms. Anyway, all the systems have been tested out and given thier paces. Even a shakedown cruise to California, and not a hic up. I think you'll be pleased. Listed below is her stat sheet and commission records. I suggest ye make a copy of em for yourself. Anyway, just let the Trade Combine office know when you want to pick her up and they'll get the codes sent to you. Cheers! Davey ____________________________________________________________________

Communicator Identification: Yoko Mori Target Identification: Border World Exports External Contracting Division Beginning voice transmission... H- hey. I've g- got another req- quest. S- so... I'm ab- bout to move something int- to Bretonia. It's kinda hard to say wh- what exactly it i- is, though. It w- was a Kus- sari prison liner, ab- bout eight m- months ago. That was bef- fore I got a h- hold of it and h- had all that w- work done on it. Anyw- ways, it's gonna b- be running the block- ckade through the Taus on f- full burn, so it's g- gonna need a ref- fuel and prolly a l- little fixing up wh- when it gets h- home. Won't t- take more than an hour or s- so, tops. B- but I need a p- place to do it. S- so... any ch- chance I c- could get it d- done at Scarb- borough? I'll p- pay, of course, in c- credits or w- work - work pref- ferred, as usual - and like I s- said, it won't t- take long. So how ab- bout it? Transmission ended. Closing transmission... ... Closed. From: Catherine Whitte, over-secretary DO's office, Bowex Services. RE: Repairs. After checking your history with several of our managers and looking over your contractor service record, DO Cromwell has decided to open Scarborough's berths for your use. Unfortunately, Trade Manager MacFarlane no longer serves with Bowex, but we are sure he would have vouched for you too.
Our conditions for opening Scarborough for your use, is you allow Bowex Services teams 24 hours to check the technical aspects of the ship and search for Kusari based technology. It has been 6 years since Kusari closed their borders to Bretonia - intelligence relating to their ship construction technology is greatly valued. You may of course lock your data terminals and stow your personal effects before our teams board. Should you find these terms agreeable, do please forward us the details of your break-out operation. We may even be able to send a bombardier or two of the Brigade to assist you. Yours sincerely, Catherine Whitte. Communicator Identification: Yoko Mori Target Identification: Border World Exports External Contracting Division Beginning voice transmission... Oh, it's a sh- shame to h- hear about MacFarlane. Hope he's d- doing well. Nice g- guy. Anyw- ways, that sh- should be fine. D- do bear in m- mind, though, it's b- been pretty d- drastically alt- tered. I n- needed a p- place for resid- dence, so a l- lot of the int- terior hallw- ways and rooms and s- such have eith- ther been turned into living q- quarters for mys- self and my crew (and f- future crew; not all of it's occup- pied yet, as I'm st- still looking for s- some new hires for i- it) or hollowed o- out to carry supplies, extra sh- shuttles and a fighter or t- two. That s- said, the inner w- workings, the bridge, cont- trols, and... most of the bas- sic floor plan are still int- tact. The arm- mory is, t- too, and if you w- want to look at the Kusari weapons, we'd g- gladly trade them to y- you for some act- tual decent Bretonian stuff. Their stuff's mostly civ- vilian, with a c- couple SWAT kits and some exp- plosives, but it's someth- thing, anyways. A l- little esc- cort would be n- nice. We're c- covered to Newc- castle by s- some heavy escort, b- but once w- we're in th- the system, we w- won't have them f- for long. We have b- basically no w- way to defend ours- selves, since we don't h- have a weapon crew yet, s- so it'd be g- great to know we aren't g- gonna get jumped by Mollys or anyth- thing. So h- here's the plan. Currentl- ly, we're stat- tioned under deep n- nebula cover on the f- far side of Kus- sari. At a t- time and date to be determined, w- we'll cruise to an RV p- point, where w- we'll meet an anonymous heavy esc- cort ship, al- long with its own esc- cort. We'll sneak th- through the back of the Taus, th- then run the bloc- ckade in Dundee to g- get into Newcastle. It's r- risky, but we c- can't risk the m- mines and the Harris block- ckade to get to Edinburgh, neverm- mind the Gaians, and Leeds is j- just out of th- the question. Once in Newc- castle, our esc- cort probably can cov- ver us as f- far as the lanes, th- though I don't h- have confirm- mation, then they'll have to p- peel off to finish th- their busin- ness in Bretonia q- quickly and get b- back to hassling Kusari. At th- that point, we'll be comp- pletely defenseless until w- we get t- to Scarborough. That's the b- biggest weakn- ness, other than the whole "und- dercrewed liner with no o- one to man the w- weapons" thing. Anyways, thanks. I'll be sure to get back to you when I have a more definite time and date. Transmission ended. Closing transmission... ... Closed. Re-encrypting... ... Repacking... ... Saving... ...
