Greetings

I will of course make all effort to attend, is there a set time and date at this time?

Also, just to clear things up, Kasper Martin did not actually try to kill me during our encounter, I have also not been attacked yet by Ageira or anyone working for them, as I mentioned I believe I am outside their reach for now.

To whom it may concern;

It is a pleasure to finally receive correspondence from the newest entry into the Sirius sector. It is unfortunate, then, that your first piece of bi-lateral diplomatic contact with the Republic of Liberty is a demand of compliance.

First of all, I would like to know where your "newly established laws" are published, since these don't seem to be the ones you reference. It's also wise to point out that, should your "new" laws have been enacted after the incident, retroactive application of said laws would compromise the judicial integrity of your government.

Secondly, there's no evidence being presented of the incident in question. To prepare a defense, we would need to see this. Plainly, it's a requirement for any fair trial.

Now, to get on to the real problems of this trial of yours:

Your lack of diplomatic contact with Liberty barring the rare universal declaration of something or another carries with it a lack of diplomatic ties between our two nations. This means that any demand of compliance, whether it is for abstinence from a conflict or extradition of a citizen will be met with quite a simple "no".

In addition, it is your wish to try a Libertonian citizen under Gallic laws. To have any case for this at all, the crime must have at least taken place in geographical proximity to Gallia or be concerning a Gallic citizen. But before you say whether it did or not, there's another problem. I do not believe that there are any courts in Sirius which claim to have universal jurisdiction since the recent conflicts sprung up. I'm sure you can see why that is an issue.

However, our largest concern is that the Republic of Liberty simply does not trust the Crown to uphold any of the guarantees that your document outlines. The announcements from your King alone don't inspire confidence in the integrity of your state or those who represent it. In fact, neither does your charter:

' Wrote:4. The resources of the Kingdom of Gallia are hereby entrusted to the Crown in order to protect the economic stability and progress of the realm. The Crown reserves the right to manage the economic entities of Gallia and the extraction, distribution, and manufacture of resources. All economic operations must be approved by the Crown.

Your state is the only one that "reserves the right" to seize privately owned assets to form a Command economy. The Republic of Liberty, founded on principles of free-market economics, cannot in good faith place trust in a government who would, on a whim, usurp the common right of man to own property. Such policies are totally contradictory to justice and fairness, and as long as your government supports them, we cannot recognise the Kingdom of Gallia as embodying either of those concepts.

Therefore, any trial that takes place will only be held in Liberty. Assuming that this employee of Ageira is found guilty, you may then apply for extradition to try him under your own laws.

Of course, you can always try him in absence, but then any such decrees of your courts would be meaningless.

Yours,

- Harrison McRemitz, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs
