I feel that the liberty corporations lack a lot of identity. I was considering trying to rebuild one, but the lore is quite restrictive.
Basically it boils down to them all being essentially the same thing, just trading different commodities. So people have no incentive to RP them.
I'd like to see more shady deals going on, to build some character.

I can understand your point Ankh but I can name at least two other Liberty factions (with npc's) that have done and still do shady stuff. I'm not going to name them personnally but if you lurk around the forums long enough you can eassily find out who they are.
I am also planning Orbital to be shady as well, and more focused on other things then just trade. Those of which are based from roleplay as well as the OSC ID. Otherwise whats the point of having something on the ID and not using that thing you can do.
Also Orbital is one of the most varied Liberty Factions. It has a better Identity than say Agiera (No pun intended) who's main Identity is Technology and reseach, but then again so is Deep space Engineering. They both build the tech they own too. But I will also say if you don't join something you like but feel it lacks identity its going to stay that way. The only way that will happen is when a group of players want to make the identity happen.

If you wish to see a Official Faction repersenting Orbital the only way it is going to happen is if you, the players, join and make it happen. As I can't apply for Officiality with one player, ie myself, nor am I willing to apply for it unless I know that those with in want it and will keep activity up or just leave after a few months because they get bored and have not tried to give any input to the Leader during there time in the group.

Orbital spa and cruise can be a lot more than just cruise liner company. I use mine for Search and Rescue as well as personnel transport.
They can be used for ambassadorial ships where two warring parties can reside over and act as an arbiter between the two.
A good bit of change can be made from the Kusari Rheinland Bretonia runs too.

Orbital holds a convention each sirius year at Curacuo as it is the most nuetral station for all the houses. But it isn't seen in roleplay in game much. (be that ingame game or on the forums)
I mostly want to exercise the ability to go out hunting Slavers and any assiocated pirate. As well that I enjoy doing supply runs for each of the base's. I don't even play as a Liner. Every modern day Liner company has a large number of support craft too. (Mostly aircraft) Which are used to make sure that there Liners are supplied with whatever the clients needs are. Nor can a Liner get every good it needs at every port. Not even in Disco can you get a good you actually need, so you are to get them from other places for which the Liner doesn't even visit. How? support craft. In Disco and what I have always tried to do, is to get more focused on supplies than the Liners themselves. Yes Liners are special, but they needed to be treated as such. And they need supplies to keep on running.

Theres only, looking at the answers given so far, a few people who want to play OSC characters but Many more who would like to see a OSC faction become Official. The only way that will ever happen is when people realise that they need to do something to make it happen. Because by not wanting to play a OSC character you are limiting the chances of a said faction becoming Official.
Thats my stand point anyway.
