Considering Canada was part of the Liberty Sleeper ship, and that Quebec has large population of French speakers, would you say there is a small minority of French speakers and French suburbs in Liberty?

French Language and Liberty - Ipuvaepe - 09-01-2011

Nope, liberty would have killed off the french quebecians, and subsequently doubled the average IQ.

As a Quebecer, I'm seriously insulted.

I assume you mean you are a francophone quebecer? Either that or because I said "quebecians" instead "quebecer", though that part was an honest mistake.
I answered your question asking for opinions with exactly that, my opinion. You can't really say you're offended by something you asked someone to say.

edit: god ninja'd

No, what's "just unnecessary" is using the same non-default color every time you post.

EDIT: Not trying to suggest killing off francophone Canadians. Reread my post, did not mean for that to be inferred at all.

But yeah. Sorry, but Bill 101, Bill 63, etc. pretty much make you lose any respectability. So quite frankly, idc. I answered your question asking for opinions with exactly that, my opinion. You can't really say you're offended by something you asked someone to say. You can however, be offended what I said in this post.

So why you bring RL politics to RP discussion?

Nice ninja-edit bro. Too bad Im too fast for y'all man.

Given that the US has subcultures from all over the world, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find any given language spoken in Liberty, realistically speaking.

That said, Freelancer is based on very strict astrographical divisions between stereotypical ethnic and cultural groups, so I also wouldn't be surprised if the answer was no.

Of course, if you wanted to roleplay that there was some descendants of French Canadians living together someplace, I don't think that would be terribly unreasonable, especially since there would have been no French-speaking house for them to immigrate to (the way other subcultures could have).

However, it also might be worth considering that such a group could be suffering from prejudice and that sort of thing in light of Gallia's aggressiveness, and there may be some pressure for them to move.

Considering how Quebec is 80% French, it's usually assumed that Quebecer stands for French quebecer. I simply meant that what you said was just hurtful and offensive, even racist. I'm not here to do a political debate, but to ask a legetimate question.

EDIT: Requesting for a lock.

Another thought: given the nature of Freelancer's stereotypically divided universe, I also wouldn't be surprised if any former French Canadians had ended up throwing their lot in with the Zoners, perhaps feeling more "at home" among a group that already was composed of multiple cultures rather than as minorities in a largely anglophonic societiy.

Yeah, that's a bit inflammatory. I hit reply without really reading it, I apologize as it is a weeee bit over the line. Thus I edited it.

This is pretty much was I was getting at.
