Someone please lay out for me the evidence necessary to prove an F1 violation (either combat or piracy). I thought I knew, but recent events have convinced me of my ignorance. Since I "know" many pirates who are confronting this issue, I need to know the facts.

hit SS button all the time.... or use fraps...
really it's irritating with the short FLHook time now...
every second trader is doing it :angry:

One way is to SS the trader when you first see him...with some other things on scanners that confirm your location... and maybe the chat window as a "time reference"
then after he F1s SS the chat window again... with
- your conversation (tax demand)
- location refference
- other players logging as "time reference"
hopefully on one screen
I think that shows it clear enough

You can't know if a person will F1 or not though.. We are not mind readers, are we? Use fraps anytime you log on for eternity? No way, sorry..

Anyway, my way for proving F1 was a bit different.
Since I didn't manage to take SS of a target F1-ing, i waited for him to come back, and accused him via PM for F1-ing!
He said "I F1-ed because I was attacked without a reason". I SS-ed that, and submitted a report:yes:

This is really getting ridiculous!!!!!
I find myself reporting 3 F1 violations a day!!!
Many of the people come in and out like that checking if the pirate left the area!
Frankly it doesn't matter for me if the server was crashing twice as often because of that... how should we play now?
Hitting the SS button all the time?
Yes it looks like the time is some 5 seconds now...
options:
- set the time back to some 1 min
- make a console message that says it's against the rules.. and will be sanctioned hard
- sanction people with all guns/credits + 7 day ban

when trader didnt respond few seconds I'll start count time and make first screenshot.. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
if he didnt respond after 1 he is death or if he do something = I know he is still online and he have chance to pay. If he disappear during counting I have 100% proof because I'll make second screenshot with numbers but without trader and send both screens to admins.

Well I know for certain that a ss after the fact alone is not enough, even with the trader's last "screw you, pirate" still on screen in space with him departing immediately below it.
And the F1 in space is instantaneous now, or close enough to not make a difference.
