Guitar players - VoluptaBox - 09-19-2011 Okay, I always wanted to learn how to play a Guitar, but never actually found the time to do it. Thing is, even if I wait, I will probably never find the time either way, so I'll just try to impose it on myself XD (less WoT, I suppose >.<). What I wanted to ask...anyone know any good reads/videos for total newbies? Also, since I still have to buy a Guitar, what do you recommend for starters, Acustical or Classical? Guitar players - Korny - 09-19-2011 Acoustic = Classical ? Anyway, really depends on what kind of music you listen to. I started off with electric, simply because that's what I wanted to play. Learning acoustic or electric is two almost totally different things, so it doesn't matter what you start with. I'd suggest you sort that out first, before thinking about how to learn stuff. Guitar players - VoluptaBox - 09-19-2011 Aye, thanks for the suggestion. As far as I'm aware, Acustical and Classical aren't exactly the same thing, but I could be wrong XD. Anyway, I would like to start off with one of those, and then move on to electrical. Guitar players - Korny - 09-19-2011 Basically, acoustic is reffered as classic. Of course there's partitions like western, or concert guitars. You're probably looking for a western guitar then (the norm for most people who have an acoustic guitar in mind) If you're more into rock and metal, don't be afraid starting off with an electric. It's easier to learn for most people. Guitar players - VoluptaBox - 09-19-2011 Thanks again, let's take it off to skype, then. Guitar players - The.Wizard - 09-19-2011 Acoustical guitar has metal strings-usually bronze alloy and classic guitar has plastic strings and it was build for playing school style classical music. You say you probably wont have time to play anyway so i suggest metal string acoustic guitar cause it's much easier to learn modern guitar playing then classical-you need to go to school many years for that... Videos and internet are also bad solution for learning from scratch,it's much better to find someone who will spend some time with you showing you the basics.Once you learn the basic stuff it's really not that hard to improve to the point when you'll be able to play popular songs on your guitar. But if you don't have the will to learn and play don't do it,it's just a waste of your time and those who teaching you.If you don't want to play nobody can teach you. Good luck. Guitar players - VoluptaBox - 09-20-2011 I do want to learn, and I will find the time, one way or another. Thanks a bunch. |
