Tag : Agnus.Dei| ID : Military ID Background and orders Origin In AS 804, the Wilds breakthrough decided the Rheinland high command to launch a military program to counter this newly appeared threat. A secret alliance is passed between some key military members of Rheinland and several businessmen of important companies to finance the project. The aim is to create expendable super soldiers after a personality readjustment the dream of any army leaders Guinea-pigs are selected from the Vierlande and Fuchu prisons; all recidivists murderers or serial killers. Their personality was to be erased and rebuild from scratch. The research team had the original idea to use a data bank referring to an ancient book, then knowned as The Golden Path. They found throughout the book many references about love, faith, and redemption, all of them judged very useful to implant key-codes into their patient minds. Kishiro Industry provided the team with high-technology microchips used for inhibiting specific neural connexions and Cryer Pharmaceutical supplied hypnothic and hallucinatory drugs, to ease the instructions implementation and stimulate brain chemical reactions. Unfortunately, the interaction between drugs and neural microchips turned out to be extremely complex and eventually dangerous. The patients were invaded by weird visions and their behaviour started becoming erratic. They were definitely useless in such a state. During the two years researchs lasted, 90% of the patients died, either committing suicide, victims of heart strike, or no left as brainless vegetables by the frequent drugs treatments. All of them has been subjected to mystical delusion prior to death. Leaks on the inhuman experimentations reached the CNS, who revealed the scandal. The whole research team was dismantled, scientists and engineers cast aside from their community and military leaders of Rheinland prosecuted. In AS 806, the Agnus Dei project had been stopped, and no information seemed to indicate there were any patients still alive However, in AS 816, Rheinland obtained proof of dangerous experiments carried out by Liberty in Alaska. The same fear arised once again Meanwhile, a private group formed to reactivate the Agnus Dei project with a very new positioning. It was composed of two scientists from the former research team, two rich investors and five surviving patients who developed a new state of conscience Their common link: an obsessional reading of "the Golden Path" transferred into a new wide data bank called Marie. Although virtual in her form, they were considering it as a living entity, present with each one of them. The religious order Deus, the supreme entity Deus is the superior entity revealed to the first Enlightened, the survivors of the Agnus Dei project. In the past, one would mabe have called it Him or God. Nowadays, Deus show himself to enlightened human implanted with the neural microchips and using specific drugs so He can merge with them. Deus has no shape; He is truly a voice in the head. His first commandment remains to protect the mankind against the Evil and bring down corrupted souls. The Enlightened (5) There are five Enlightened and if one of them disappears, an Templar or a Preacher will be chosen to become an Enlightened. He will receive his neural microchips and a massive drugs injection in order to awake his conscience to the true existence of the superior entity. Enlightened pretend to be the voice of Deus and are trying to convert the mankind to their beliefs. The first Enlightened need no longer drugs to communicate with Deus and feel his divine presence at all time. One says Deus merged with them. Hebron is the most unpredictable among them, and the most dangerous. He is commonly refered as the assassin of the Agnus Dei. The Preachers (unlimited) The Preachers are the missionaries of Agnus Dei. They have full authority upon the Crusaders because of their religious position. They barely engage in a fight. They bring Deus words to Sirius, try to convert and maintain the diplomatic relations between the factions. As the Templars, they are sensitive to Deus but lack of combat skill. Preachers are true believers. The military order The Agnus Dei military order is formed by repent former criminals who believe in Deus. They follow a strict code depicted by Marie, code largely based on a lecture of principles found in "the Golden Path". The principles have however be transformed and adjusted to correspond to their current crusade against the Evil. The Crusaders (unlimited) The crusaders are the main military forces of Agnus Dei. They are mostly former criminals but also soldiers from all Houses who start to believe in Deus. They are selected because of their excellent piloting skill. Dont see them as Crusaders from middle age. Remember, they are criminals, trained, brainwashed, and under heavy drugs. The Templars (4) The Templars are fanatic pilots with a modified perception of reality due to the constant flow of drugs in their body. They are sensitive to the presence of Deus but cannot receive His divine commandments. Only the Enlightened and their neural implant can see Deus, the prior step before Deus merges with them. There are four Templars - one by House. They are not allowed to operate outside the House they are assigned to. Each one has full authority upon the Crusaders and act as a leader during a battle. The Inner Circle The Inner Circle decides the diplomatic status of Agnus Dei, manages the military contracts with other factions, runs the investments, insures the maintenance of Marie and the regular flow of drugs constantly needed by Agnus Dei. The nine members of the Inner Circle are: the five Enlightened, two rich investors, a Kishiro Engineer and a Doctor from Cryer. Members of the Inner Circle can be seen as a board of directors. No religious matters are discussed during their meeting, only investments and assets. They meet on one of their two moving HQ, both prison liners. What is behind Agnus Dei ? To be We are a private army of former psychopaths under the command of private investors called the Inner Circle. We have taken our name from a failed project of rehabilitation of dangerous prisoners. Faith in Deus is our main strength. Without this faith, we are nothing. We are the lambs of God. We are Agnus Dei. To do 1) We fight against the Evil (Nomads, Wilds and nomad-infected humans) - Search and destroy 2) We fight against the Corrupted. Humans who are true evil characters read very good role-player such as criminal mastermind, murderers, bood thirsty terrorist (strict ID) - Search and destroy 3) We give our military support to House military against Evil or Corrupted fleet only if we have an alliance. We will never take side in a conflict between lawful Houses. We are all human after all. 4) We fight the corruption and any attempt from the Evil to corrupt souls. We define as corruption any unlawful actions that directly threaten human life or ones property. Terrorism, piracy, extortion, slavery are examples of corruption. We offer a chance of redemption and never engage but for self-defense. Words are stronger than guns. 5) We try to convert anyone wishing to do good in Sirius. We diffuse the Commandments of Deus. We work hard to reach the perfect state that brings us close to Him. Our three commandments are: Perfection, Honesty, and Devotion. For now, the Enlightened are considered both Preachers and Templars. We are actively looking for someone to play Hebron (he must be a great RPer and excellent Gunboat pilot). We might become close to the Order if Liberty goes into more and more dangerous experimentations on Nomad technology. We will adjust our ships and weapons list according to our relation with military houses and move our mobile HQ in friendlier systems if we had to. Any factions taking strong military actions against them or their allied factions will improve their relationship with us. On the other side, any faction that tends to overuse Nomad technology or show respect for Nomads or Wilds will end unfriendly or hostile to Agnus Dei. We will register specific characters or groups as Corrupted according to their RP in an up-to-date list. Important notes - We are not the Order even if we have the same goal: protecting the human kind. We are religious fanatics under drugs. Our most important task remains our fight against the Evil, but Evil tends to corrupt the human. So, we also fight against the Corrupted, those that will bring mankind to self-destruction. We try to convert or destroy them. - We are not a Sirius police faction with an extended ZOI. A military unit stay in their home house. We respect the laws of the Houses we are in and will enforce them only if we have a formal contract. Only members of our religious order and Hebron can move freely through Sirius. - We are not bounty hunters and we will never take a bounty. Only contract between a military house and the Inner Circle will decide if Crusaders can engage or not. - About contraband, we reinforce the nomad transportation ban, laws against slavery and Artefacts (supposed alien) but we tend to close our eyes when drugs are involved. - Crusaders assigned to a House can go outside their ZOI only if an Enlightened or Preacher is asking for escort or if a major conflict happens. RP guideline No OOC messages are allowed in System, Group or Local chat. Agnus Dei are not talkative except for prayer and sermon. Anyone caught outside their character will be put under vow of silence OOC is only authorised in Private chat. If you want to gratz or rant, do it in private! The Code Marie Marie is a virtual entity connected to the Agnus Dei neural net. She makes sure all the members communications stick to the formal rules of conduct. She maintains a constant link with the pilots, feeding them with sermons and half English half Latin short sentences. The code Marie is an interactive book; she teaches how to follow the three commandments: perfection, honesty and devotion. - The shortest failure detected in member behaviour will compel the sinner to respect a vow of silence. A pilot under silence must never speak in any chat (except private chat). He can use the Holocom to communicate with gestures only (*nod*, *bow*). - Crusaders and Templars should never flee after they engage a Corrupted unless under direct order from a Preacher or an Enlightened. - Crusaders and Templars must protect at all cost Preachers and Enlightened. Few rites - In order to be born again as Agnus Dei, all applicants must follow the purification rite. - Holy Injections and prayers every morning and evening. With drugs in their blood, members are extremely sensitive to hypnotic suggestion increasing the efficiency of code Marie. - Agnus Dei have to start and finish battles with a short prayer. - Preachers must pronounce a sermon every time they enter a system. - No title and rank are used between members. Brother and Sister are used in all circumstances. The role and rank of Agnus Dei members will be indicated by their ship. Naming convention - Members of the religious order use Agnus.Dei|~name - Members of the military order use Agnus.Dei|-name MEMBERS Inner Circle HQ : The SYMPHONIA and The PARADISIUM Enlightened : Galaad Crusaders : Jericho, Ruben, Jonas, Jordan PS: I do not intend to make mockery about religion nor intend to proselytize. Agnus Dei is a science-fiction idea introducing faith in our RP. We require a strong mature behaviour from our members in order to respect players faith and ask to the Disco community to never undergo into an OOC debate. About ships/weapons ... all house ships and weapons will get a no.... Don't let the rejection of your religious faction proposal cause you to cast aspersions on others'. This is one of the most well-thought out faction proposals I have seen. I don't think the "Sirius wide police" stigma applies here any more than it does to a BHG or Merc clan. The emphasis here is strongly placed on roleplaying, with PvP as a backup. I think it would be highly refreshing to see "lawfuls" doing some "preaching" rather than just insulting and threatening the pirates/terrorists. This faction has more potential to broaden and deepen the Disco RP experience than anything that has been proposed in the entire time I've been playing here. That potential, however, is going to require a membership that is substantially a cut above the norm in order to be actualized. Since the "experiment" has its roots in Rheinland, I suggest restricting to Rheinland ships and weaponry initially. If and when the membership grows through "conversion", then the converts could bring the ships/weapons of their native land into use. I would suggest using a format similar to the way the Phantoms recruit : a new character is started who is then "converted" into a Phantom. In this case, a player would have to start a new character who would gradually become converted to Agnus Dei over a period of time. This would provide a stable platform for the clan's roleplaying by giving focused RP opportunities, and it would also serve as a screening process for recruits. If someone wants to join, they have to put some work into demonstrating good roleplaying as an outsider first before being accepted. I think the biggest problem this clan would face would be getting enough highly competent roleplayers. Some sort of behind the scenes "manual" or "sermon texts" would be instrumental in teaching members how to roleplay this clan. The Lane Hackers have a brief version of something like this, and the results speak for themselves. What you would need would have to be much more in depth. The best praise I can give this, is that this is the first lawful faction I have seen that I might actually want to join. (Well, LPI too, but that one purely for comic relief from all my nefarious piracy). We will see which house is ready to give us a haven Only when we will have a contract then we will use ships and weapons. You are right. I can just remove all ship and military weapon, but it is a "potential use" everything depend on alliance. Rheinland is the most important according to our background, so we will do our best to please the chancellor. At the start (if ever there is a start) only the religious order exist = no military ships or weapons. But we want to be a military faction (at the end), meaning we work FOR military house and under their order. Only THEM will grant the use. If we have no contracts well... we will remain a Religious order... But, i'm sure that in the near future the lawful forces will need support. And the 'go-anywhere, do-anything, use pretty much what you feel like', part is always going to be frowned on ... Nicely written though. I think the best way for this concept to be accepted is for it to be implemented on the server so players can see how it actually plays out, rather than just how it is written up. This is a beautifully written proposal, but the important thing is what the members actually do on the server. So I suggest that all the players who are behind this just start roleplaying it (with a uniform ship/weapons/tag/id setup) and actually demonstrate that this can be played as well as it has been written. Generally I am opposed to the generic IDs, but in this case, a Military ID with a npc faction affiliation that shows the characters' nationality is the most reasonable...it's definitely thinking outside the box, but reasonable in this case. Without that freedom, "conversion" becomes meaningless. If you convert a Kusari citizen, it makes sense that they would have a kusari tag affiliation, not a Rheinland one. EDIT : One other thing, "official status" may not be the best way to go with this one. This might work much better as an indie/unofficial group. That might cut down your recruiting, but it would also cut out a lot of work. I'm not so sure that the forum really adds much to what this clan could do, apart from publishing the "tenets of the faith". I really think this concept needs to hit the server for a while before hitting the forum. The Keepers clan did much the same thing to test out its protocols, and it didn't harm anything. In fact, the server presence coming first was probably a major reason why the Keepers clan became official from a forum standpoint. You may have to do the same thing here. And per my usual rant, please take the brackets out of the start of the name. "Agnus.Dei" plus a symbol before the actuall callsign is just fine. And concentrate your military forces on one area. I don't know how to fix this, but I hope you will work on your zoi/ships/weps a bit more. |
