Developing a Freelancer mod for Galactic Civilizations II - Praetyre - 03-21-2008

Hello all. While on hiatus, I have been experimenting with an entertaining turn based strategy science fiction simulation game known as Galactic Civilizations II. The game is based around the expansion and development of a faction into a larger galaxy/sector/whatever towards one of four victory conditions (conquest, the sci-fi equivalent of globalisation, universal peace and evolution beyond this mortal realm). As this setting is quite similar to and suited towards the development of a strategic Freelancer game, I have decided to endeavour towards creating a mod for it.

Now, what I need is permission (to use you folks creations of all sorts, for which you will be given full and total credit) and input (suggestions to improve the recreation of your factions or ideas).

This is a not-for-profit mod. Any and all contributions of content given will be accredited fully. Elgatodiablo has kindly donated his new Coalition logo for use on the Coalition faction, and I am currently seeking out Frozen's permission to use his beautiful Nomad logo (which I will not use in any publically released version without his permission)

Right now, I am seeking out someone who can design/find a good logo for the Phantoms, and a non-GIF (Galciv doesn't like converted GIF's), complete image of the Bretonian flag. Any images of the characters of Grand Admiral Mcintosh, Taurvi, Gottkanzler Niklaus Rheinhardt and a name and/or image for the Emperor of Kusari would also be appreciated.

The major races are so far as follows;

Bretonia (race leader Carina, alignment neutral with good leanings, racial music New London theme);
[Image: bretoniass8.jpg]
Coalition (race leader Mcintosh, alignment moderately evil, racial music Hell March from Red Alert);
[Image: coalitionpn3.jpg]
Corsairs (race leader Praetor, alignment highly evil, racial music Crete theme);
[Image: corsairslv1.jpg]
Kusari (race leader Nayuwakazi, alignment neutral with evil leanings, racial music New Tokyo theme);
[Image: kusarixr0.jpg]
Liberty (race leader James Powell, alignment neutral, racial music Denver theme);
[Image: 1223bertylg0.jpg]
Nomads (race leader Taurvi, alignment pure good, which combined with militarism engenders a massive superiority complex, racial music Special Reveal Mysterious theme);
[Image: nomadsru0.jpg]
Outcasts (race leader Council of Dons, alignment moderately evil, racial music Malta theme);
[Image: outcastsal9.jpg]
Phantoms (race leader Darkstar, alignment pure evil, racial music Zone 21 ambience);
[Image: phantomseb9.jpg]
Rheinland (race leader Niklaus Rheinhardt, alignment neutral, racial music Authoritarian Theme from Simcity Societies);

I like strategy games. This has some potential. But I don't think the Outcasts are Italian and the Corsairs aren't Greek. Their roots can be traced back to the colony ship: Hispania...

I stated "primarily", which allows room for other races to exist within these factions:)

Wow...

Looks excellent!

I would try to get Freelancer images in those things though.

So far, some odd things have emerged;

as to designing a logo for the phantoms, i can, but, i will need a few pointers from the phantoms themselves, as to what they would like their logo to be based on/look like/colour scheme.

also, ive already given permission to patrick, over skype, just mentioning it here again, for whatever reasons.
