what ships are UNIQUE to a faction? - Jinx - 01-11-2012
with the recent rule change in mind ... i wonder what ships should NOT be shared ( individual ships )
this is NOT an official dev survey - just a personal one.
an example:
zoners are white to most - yet.... they wouldn t dream of sharing the juggernaut / osprey / whale
so in that case - it would be like that :
- kingfisher: green ( made for the open market - zoners give it away without questions )
- osprey: red ( made for zoners, they don t give it away )
- conference: green ( made for the open market - they give it away )
- corvo: green ( made for the open market - easy to get )
- fearless: white ( made as a dedicated freeport supply ship - zoners don t quite like giving it away )
- aquillon: red ( oddity - no idea.... red cause its a battleship )
- Nephilim: red ( zoners don t like giving those to others )
it is unclear if that is even possible - but i find it interesting to know what some factions consider to be "theirs" against global rep stance.
the "global" stance however is "white" to most

the difference of ships is relevant....
explanation:
a faction is "white" to all... yet they have ships they really do NOT wish others to use. - but when the entire faction is white - the rules say - these ships can be given away ..... flagged as "white".
i picked the zoners, cause i know them best - cause i wrote the lore about the ships myself.
zoners will give away many ships - but some classes won t be shared. - that is a difference within the shipline in terms of policy.
a juggernaut simply is not "white" to a hessian - while a conference IS "white" ( just an example )
and i wonder if there are other factions that feel that they have ships that DO match the global rep / nerf ... and other ships that does NOT match it.

I'm not sure, but I think stealth fighter planes and aircraft carriers are not shared with the same people that the USA share their Dodge Convertibles with. Couldnt be my imagination though.

To CR our entire shipline is unique. That says it all.

In my opinion the entire corsair line should be red to everyone but our allies. Farmers and Hogosha should be white or green
At the same time the entire civilian line should be white to Corsairs so it will force the indies and new players to follow the Corsair way of flying but I doubt that will ever happen

Ever since our Insurgents got fixed, we've ditched Odins. All we got that is ours is redcell to everyone but us 8-|.
Our only non-SCRA ships are now Havana, Marx, and an Eagle.
Don't ask why.

There are definitely some individual ships out there that SHOULD be more restricted than others.
But writing out all the ships in a table would take a long time.
I assume that for House Militaries, they may choose to give off snubs, restrict bombers and gunboats and disallowed cap ships.
It tends to defer from faction to faction though. As said, Corsair is more protective of their shipline than say, Zoners.
