Battletransports - Wraga - 01-15-2012
So...there are 4 types of battle/container transports. Since I didnt use any kind of that ships before, but planning to, I would like to hear some experiences about them.
Which is the best if I wanna fight with pirates and not just pay for them and why?

Smaller transports usually fare better when it comes to getting away from pirates, while the Battletransports fare better against other transports and Guntboats.

For some reason the Bison has less guns and armor but more cargo space by pitiful amount.

Well, yes, you are right, however I would like to make a char what could defendt itself. Yes, I know its a weird idea, since a bomber could take down a trader easily, but I wanna get some fun while trading.

Harder to hit the liberty ship so they give it less hull and less offensive capability. I guess the cargo makes up for the double whammy.

Besides, that Battletransports are far more effective against any kind of pirate(solo) [Can take the beating from a bomber, may outrun a weak gunship] I would say the Shire and the Bison would be good choices.
EDIT: wasnt saying they can always take beating from all bombers.

I found my Bison fun. Bombers swet to stay close to me, and it's chassis is thin enough to dodge farther snacs. Rookie pilots even perish under it's guns. With a cau7 on it, I can run ~27K from a gunboat, 30 if it has razors and I manage to dodge some.
Never had another 'battle-trans' so I can't compare.
