Here is the latest mining tutorial thread. The differences of gas mining is the mining vessels and mining area where you need to be near to a Gas Miner in order see the mineable gas.

Yes, principle is the same just the mining zones are very small areas around "Gas miner" object in gas clouds...

no, you need to shoot rocks and ice crystals with a mining laser, just the ships are different ones and the actual mining fields are very small (like 1k radius around a gas miner, if at all)
