Sean Lynn - Mímir - 02-19-2012 Kodiak Research Station, December 818 A.S. It had been two years since Senior Agents Wilson and Carter suffered their fatal fiasco that got them both reassigned to less hands-on duty. Wilson had been eager to promote a desk jockey agent, a behavioral analyst with no field experience, and that had proved fatal. Analyst Philip P. Browne got in the fast lane and with the help of the two Senior Agents he went from teaching to commandeering a cruiser in less than 6 months. Sadly Agent Browne had proven unfit for the task. The Liberty Siege Cruiser 'Capitol Hill' complete with full crew was lost in the Omicrons in the spring of 818, never to be heard from again. The aftermath had been hell for Senior Agent Carter. Promoting that pencil-pusher was not his idea to begin with, and he never liked it one bit, but Browne was all they had from their own ranks. There was no other alternative. But he was done listening to Agent Wilson. From now on, things were on Carter's terms, and he had found his man for the job. Carter sat back in his chair, took off his glasses and sat with his eyes closed for a while. He had not spoken to Agent Wilson since the incident and their following reassignments. Wilson was still at Grisefjord handling field operatives. Carter scratched his forehead, leaned over his desk and pressed a button on his communication console. Wilson's bearded face showed up on the display. He was clearly a little anxious 'Wilson! I know you got the memo, you know why I am getting in touch with you. We've been assigned to handle a new field operative, and this time we do things my way, you understand?' Agent Carter leaned back in his chair once again. He was hell bent on never failing again, and in this case that meant taking full control of the situation. [color=#FF6600]'Ok, ahem yes I got the memo, I am briefed'¦ Sir, I guess it is now? TacOps top branch are reacting to a reported increase in illicit activities in Alaska and the Omicrons. Traders and Freelancers are getting access to restricted areas, and if Government doesn't respond, Liberty research ' corporate and military ' might be sidelined by advances made by other powers active in these systems. We want operatives out there.' Wilson shrugged his shoulders, looking slightly more comfortable. He had prepared himself for this meeting. 'Good. You did your homework. So you know the candidates, and you know which one I want. No psycho babble this time round, no 'behavioral analysts'. This time we're getting a real straight shooter. This guy knows how to get the job done. I just need you to sign the form, and we're done. And yes, you are damn right it's Sir to you!' Carter knew Wilson would be pushed over easily, and now it was only a matter of Wilson approving of Carter's decision and informing top branch. He had completely thrown off Wilson, who was looking more nervous than ever fiddling with his tie knot to, as if he was choking. Quote:Name: Sean Lynn Agent Wilson looked at the file Carter had sent him. This Sean Lynn did indeed look like the perfect candidate. But Carter didn't know what Wilson knew. Wilson had performed a deep background check, and a few uncofirmed Junker rumours said that Mr. Lynn had certain vices. His love of sports had fueled a habit of gambling. Lynn was also rumoured to be frequenting St. Paul Base, supposedly acquiring marihuana to his own use. But these were of course just rumors. 'So? Sign it and I'll set it into motion. We will draft this fine young man to our service. He has the merits, the training, the experience, the leadership skills. He's our golden boy. Perfect for this job, Agent. We'll take him under our wings, keep him on a tight leash. What are you waiting for!?' [color=#FF6600]'But Sir, I think'¦' 'Shut your pie hole, Wilson! I didn't ask you to think ' look where that got us the last time, remember? I asked you to sign that form and return it to me, so that is what you are going to do! Am I making myself clear?' 'Yes Sir. I uploaded the signed form to you. I'll be awaiting further orders. Agent Wilson out.' Agent Wilson quickly moved to press the disconnect button, so he didn't have to listen to anymore of Carter's raging. This was Carter's call, so this time he would have to take the fall himself if something went wrong. Recruiting from other branches was always tricky, but Wilson had to agree that Sean Lynn had the papers needed to accomplish the task. Perhaps he would prove an asset if handled and trained well. Only time would tell... |
