Well I was just wondering having recently switched from a loki to a scimmy and frankly I'm a little bit dissapointed.
Is it just that I have been spoiled with the loki or is it that the scimmy is weak.
Just wondering if there is an issue here.
I owuld like to see the Scimmy turn a little bit faster, and mybe lose the turret as a result.
Just chucking ideas out there.

It depends what you use the scimitar against, and how you use it.
It is different from standard LFs... and I think that makes it special. I wish I could fly one in the factions that I'm in.

light fighters are balanced - maybe a little powerful ( the mk 2 versions ) - but all in all, they re quite fine.

Try out the Decurion, and you will know what a bad LF is. We can't use our second choice, the Arwing, because the CD slot is bugged and the guns apparently dont show, or something like that. So, we have our third choice, which is a pretty decent LF, the Tiger Shark.
The Loki is one of the best LFs out there, the Scimatar is supposed to be above average. The torp slot makes it unique.
I think you have been spoiled by the Loki, to be honest...

The Loki is pretty overrated... the Torp slot is all it has going for it, really.

Perhaps it is, but the torp slot makes it a fearsome threat against bombers. And to be honest, I prefer firepower over size, if its a question of a torp slot on an LF. Need a quick way to kill a lot of things when mines just dont cut it.

Well Loki is actually quite easy to hit.. for a LF. It can do pirating in groups of two.. but it's not really that good. Sure against bomber it can be cooll with a Sunslayer or even cooler with a Starkiller (try them out.. they rock:))
From those that I tested... LF are very much ok.. some that might need tweaking (I'm not listing the ones that are ok and were not mentioned, I flew all LFs except for Hussar now)
Liberator - Arguably the best LF for LF-only tasks.. and with Vengeance guns it might be too good compared to others. But on the other hand Liberty has only average VHFs (though 3!!), and average bomber, so it can keep a great LF
Slipstream - "Heavy" LF, can be used for VHF tasks also.. but has problems with very agile LFs or even VHFs. Has very bad hitbox right now that makes it kind of uber.. though you loose the lvl 7 guns faster than first 10 nanobots.
Scimitair - Has the extra turret advantage and outcasts have Kraken turrets that work great...so it's ok
Decurion - well that's a useless LF... turns slower than some 4 VHFs in game... extra armor doesn't help at all in this case. It could get same turning and agility as Scimitair while keeping the armor (since Scimitair has extra turret)
Hyena (rogue LF MK II) - even more useless than Decurion - it could be upped from 1.2667 turning to some 1.3, it's a huge target (like 3 times the Liberator).

Loki is overrated yes. And it's overrated totally.
Try and fly it in a mass fight. You'll get hit no matter how hard you dodge.
It has a bigger hitbox then Wrath, I'm sure of that.
In my humble opinion, Loki is a bit over average.
Scimittar is better.
Liberator is godlike, totally unbalanced compared to almost any other LF.
Wyrm is pretty good even though it's turning rate sucks, it's agility is amazing.
Slipstream is maybe the most useful choice, but I don't respect it due to it's heavy hitbox bug.
I was piloting all five, so it's just my view.
I'v heard Hussar is good, but I only fought against it, never tried it, so I won't comment.
Tried the Decurion.. Slower then Sabre.
