Networks.. - sn!p3r - 04-12-2008 Some people already know that ever since ive moved into the new place, i have been losing signal on my wireless network, which gets me loads of lag and signal eventually drops out every 10 mins at times. Making it almost impossible to get in pvp's, im just lucky no one reported me for f1'ing:P So i decided to go wired ( hooking a cable from my pc to the router) However, i still have to wait a week for the cable to get here, ordered it from newegg yesterday, Heres my question Lets say i just got done hooking up the cord from my pc to router, would i have to install the router software? or can i just plug it in and go from there? reason is because i think my parents might have lost the installation cd ( im sure i can get it online) Anyways, has anyone done this? Do i need the software? or will it just work after i connect the wires? Sniper Networks.. - Spear - 04-12-2008 I use the ethernet port direct to my router and as far as I remember it was a pretty much an automatic process. Hopefully you shouldnt have any problems. Networks.. - 13CentKiller - 04-12-2008 No driver required...Wireless is a more complicated system than a wired system, and wireless is automatic so, you won't have any problem. What kind of router do you have? (Just in case) If its D-Link, Belkin, Lynksys...ect...ect, you won't have a problem. Dynalink I'm not sure about. Networks.. - Boss - 04-12-2008 Plug it in, then play. I'd disable wireless though, since you won't be needing it. Networks.. - sn!p3r - 04-17-2008 Finally arrived, plugged it in and works like a charm;) No more lagging out every 10 mins Networks.. - kingvaillant - 04-17-2008 GRRrr,,,,, I can't repport you anymore for F1ing... j/k nice to hear that it works now |
