Zone 21, Deathtrap set by the SA? - Ash - 04-16-2008
Today at around 21:55 GMT My Character Junker was destroyed by [SA]-John.Talon and three other SA officers for no real reason. I'm making this post as a warning and a complaint to the SA about it's rules and restrictions around Zone 21.
The whole event started when I was RP'ing scanning the mine designs on the border of the Zone 21 minefield about 2 or 3k from the entrance itself, when I was warned by one SA officer to leave the area due to a restricted space law set by the Liberty Navy. I must be honest and I admit I complained that I was not attempting to infiltrate Zone 21, but when he threatened to open fire I had no option but to comply.
I then began to proceed away from the minefield at a speed of 80 until I reached a point where I was 8k from the perimeter of the minefield itself. I then began to proceed towards Nofolk Shipyard at the same speed. The SA complained that I was not moving fast enough and that I was STILL in restricted space when I figured that Zone 21 was restricted Space not the space around it. Otherwise everyone who used the Norfolk->Texas Tradelane would be a Criminal. They continued to escort me and tell me I was wasting their time and blurt out the odd warning every now and again when I was clearly in free space.
I was then fired upon by one of the SA officers until my hull was almost critically damaged and half of my gear had been blown away. Naturally I retaliated by calling them "Jerks" because basically, they were. In my anger I said "Trigger happy and Liberty Navy arent good together" which is a fair comment if I may say so myself.
At that point I was destroyed.
I would like to point out what the description of Zone 21 and it's rules are. It reads:

All information concerning Zone 21 is CLASSIFIED by the Liberty Navy and the area protected by a minefield. Any unauthorised ships attempting to breach the Zone 21 Minefield or enter Zone 21 itself will be nullified WITHOUT EXEPTION OR EXEMPTION.
1. I was not attempting to breach the Zone 21 Minefield
2. I did leave when I was ordered to
3. It specifically says the Zone 21 Minefield not the space around it
4. I was nowhere near the entrance, thus, could not even possibly think, let alone try to infiltrate Zone 21
So I take this as Murder and advise the SA to try and be a bit more relaxed with the trigger when it comes to Zone 21. And if you refuse to take my advice, well we all know where you get your target practice now dont we.

If you are telling the truth, then there should be no reason your ship was destroyed, Zone 21 laws are not broken UNLESS you are approaching the hole in the mines ( about 3k from the hole and moving towards it), Or you are near the jumpgate, inside the mines.
If you were leaving, no matter how fast you were going, again there should be no reason your ship was destroyed.. However, if there is a different side to this story and you were refusing to leave, Then no mistake was made.

You were destroyed because of the attitude and the refusal to comply to orders, we have a policy, you get one warning to leave zone 21, and then leave, I was told, by the LSF and the SA officers, which were about 9 people or so, that you were in zone 21, that first time you refused to leave, and then you complied after 3 warnings, when I got there you were still quite near it and moving away, then calling the SA jerks and some others things. Disrespect will not be tolerated, especially from a junker. A quazi lawful faction should in fact be trying their best to stay in good terms with the navy, not blatantly disrespect them and break their laws. Therefore you were killed, and as I said, if you continued being disrespectful, further things will happen in RP, reaching from putting your character in jail, banning from Liberty or some other things, depending on what you keep doing.

I agree..... if you are told by Navy to leave or be destroyed.... you leave as fast as you can... since you don't want to die.
In RH you would have been death in half the time...

No Talon, when you got there I was at least 10k away from the field and moving to Norfolk both you and I know that. You had no right to destroy my ship and like you said I was moving away so I was complying. I think anyone would be pretty ticked off if an SA officer had just blown half of your guns off for no legal reason, and "not moving fast enough" definatley isnt an established legal reason.
Had you done the same had I been a civilian transport vessel? or a newbie?

You were that away from zone 21, but you were standing still, I was flying around you for about 10 seconds or so, giving you warnings, I have heard the story from the SA and LSF officers before that you refused an order and left on the third time, in the end I killed you because of the insult and the disrespect though. Breaking the law I did handle, but being cheeky after that? That won't do sonny. We do not kill anyone under lvl 30 trying to enter zone 21, if he's above 30, we warn them to leave, and act normally.

The bigger issue I see here is why the Southern half of the Navy is patrolling in areas the Northern half should be patrolling.

In the "absence" of a northern official navy, the SA patrols all Liberty territories, if we do not people on the forums complain, so now we patrol everything, colorado, cali, texas, new york..and others. Its been done like that for months and months.

Technically, there is (unofficial and only one section, albeit) somewhat of a Northern fleet presence in the USS, but, if you are patrolling more widely, I would suggest updating the faction post, which could mislead some people.

The USS has merged with the SA about 3 months ago, USS doesn't exist anymore. And we're in the process of updating the faction post, started yesterday.
