Ok, So I've got a whale and have just noticed I've got 2 new slots on it - carrier bay and equipment type 1.
Anyone knows what can be fitted on them?

Im pretty sure when the Docking bug is fixed, you can use your transport as a mini carrier. Wont that suprise the pirates? Or patrols.

You obviously haven't read the update release posts.
The carrier bay can be equipped with a docking module (allows player ships to dock on your ship) [not available yet] and the equipment slot can be equipped with a hyperspace drive or a survey module.
