Sick of people writing posts although other factions can read them when the thread is specifically
between two factions and by RP undetectable by all other factions and persons.
Or people who are choosing to Role play something on the disco server that is really messed up...
and the reason it is messed up is because there is no RP to support it apart from on the server...
however they are too scared to RP it on the forums because they fear inRP repercussions from people
using OORP knowledge...
And the "Encoded" message I saw the other day... Don't get me wrong I love the guy who made it I really do...
But by RP ALL messages on the Communications forum are "encoded" if we all start using the same "encoding" technique then the entire Communication forum will be full of this.

At which point... Why have the forum at all?
Yeah ok... I am a small and relatively new member of the Forum RP community...
Maybe I didn't see its importance for the first year or two that I played here...
but now I do see its importance and I think there is too much fear of being metagamed
from members of the community who want to play a shady role within the Sirius society...
I suppose my outlook is...
Sure you may be Metagamed... and sure that may spoil your RP a little... but it also
spoils your RP by not using the forums to communicate as your faction/person actually
would...
Whether you don't RP the way you should due to the fear of metagaming, or your
rp is forced to change due to metagaming... both are just as bad...
Might as well just take the risk of RPing properly the way your faction would... it makes it
so much easier for the majority of the people on Disco who want to RP with you and
understand why your doing the actions your doing instead of all your RP being in Private
skype channels or going unrecorded on the Discovery server and leaving the rest of us
perplexed as to why you are shooting us one minuite and talking to us about how our soup
is the next....

Thank you for this post. I agree with it whole-heartedly.
I'm also of the firm belief that RP shouldn't have to take place on the forums in order to be considered legitimate, but I think I'm in a minority here.

While I enjoy my forum ar pee, not everyone does. Role playing on the forums is not a requirement and sometimes is just a repeated and unnecessary task. If you work it out in game, there is no reason to post it on the forums.
Third parties can PM you and ask for details if they so desire.
Anyways, I agree with the whole secrecy part. It is meh.
