Pirating in Pirate Transport - timmychen - 05-13-2008 Adamantine brought this up, and I was thinking.. if you pirated someone for their goods, and they gave it to you, could you take it to their destination to sell it? Would it be allowed? What if you had a Junker ID instead of a Pirate ID? Etc. Things like that. Pirating in Pirate Transport - Heartless - 05-13-2008 Isn't that what some people do? Not sure though... As for pirating in a transport, the rule is anything up to Gunboat, so I'm not sure where transports fit in... Good questions actually. Pirating in Pirate Transport - AdamantineFist - 05-13-2008 It's allowed, I know that. I've had someone try to do it once, but with the aid of another transport I managed to fight him off. EDIT: Oh, and as to selling the stuff, obviously only if you can dock on lawful bases (i.e. Junkers). EDIT 2: And you can, of course, sell your ill-gotten gains on pirate bases. Pirating in Pirate Transport - Tenacity - 05-13-2008 The pirate transport doesnt have quite enough firepower, it's do-able, but you still have a lot of cargo space even in a rogue gunboat, which has better success pirating. And as far as I know, there's nothing against taking someone's cargo and selling it, though the destination you have to be careful about... you cant very well pirate someone right outside new london when that was their destination, and then sell the goods you pick up at new london... because it's a lawful base, and you're a pirate =P I sometimes demand cargo instead of money if the target is carrying something good... hfuel, ship plating, plutonium, diamonds, etc. Pirating in Pirate Transport - AdamantineFist - 05-13-2008 All I would need to do, then, is team up with one of you scallywags in a gunboat. Pirating in Pirate Transport - Xoria - 05-13-2008 A Junker in a Pirate Transport is the only possibility of selling the pirated goods on a lawful base, AND that base cannot be in the same House region where the act of piracy took place. So if you pirate Diamonds in Cambridge from someone, you can't sell them at Leeds. Basically, if you are actively pirating somewhere then your rep with the lawful factions in that region must be hostile. And don't try to argue with me about this or look for clever loopholes. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. Pirating in Pirate Transport - timmychen - 05-13-2008 Alright. Thanks for clearing it up, Xoria. Another question - not looking for a loophole, but in the case of the diamond-niobium run... Sigma-13... which house would you consider that a part of? Pirating in Pirate Transport - Lohingren - 05-13-2008 well, il let you all bump into the reapers trading inc Tenacity and then youl eat your words about it not having enough firepower... i reckon them gb's and such that been taken down by our possy thought the same thing when they was blown to little bits (well probably cause we had about 5) but yeah awsome ships you can do it, though we dont cause we only dock on unlawful bases were allowed to dock on etc cause we have the full tag. Pirating in Pirate Transport - Dab - 05-13-2008 In my opinion a transport pirating is just fine.. Gunboats are more powerful than all the transports, so its not like you have more firepower, you actually have much less most of the time.. Only a little more armor is all you have. BTW, a tip; Don't threaten to pirate a BLS transport with one while you sit in front of Cali Base where Zapp is sitting in his bomber.. Jafa, not smart. Pirating in Pirate Transport - cmfalconer - 05-13-2008 *looks for OPG Ivan* I've seen the Mentira do it many times. Not to me, 'cause I'm usually running aid to Crete at the time, but that Pirate Transport usually has some sort of goods in it. |
