need some help... - Tenacity - 05-18-2008

So just now i was browsing these forums, and opened up the readme for the discovery mod looking at ship stats. As soon as I closed notepad, my screen went this kind of teal/blue tinted color, and I cant fix it. I've tried changing color balancing on the monitor itself, restarting my computer, checked all monitor/tower connections... nothing is working.

Please tell me my monitor isnt fried...

well, great, I figured out the problem... i think.

The red color channel isnt working. I get blue and green, but no red... thus, everything that's supposed to be white or any shade of red looks bluish.

I tried switching out monitors and had the same problem, so it's got to be an issue with my graphics card... now I have to spend a few hundred bucks I dont have just to fix this peice of crap.

*sigh*:(

Aren't there any warranty left in your gfx card?

I've still got a warranty on the computer itself for a few months...

the entire thing is integrated though, it doesnt have a seperate card for graphics. Damn gateway POS.

Hey that happened to me once, i had a 21 inch monitor and it went all yellow tinted, it was under warranty but i threw the warranty slip away, so i had to ditch the moniter, and get a new one. Sorry Tenacity. you may need to get a new one. Or maybe you need a better video card. Try a Nvidia, they the bomb, ATI= lame my opinion "don't hit me!" *runs and hides behind the awesome power of Nvidia*

Pretty sure at this point it isnt my monitor, since i've tried a couple others and they both have the same problem.

It seems more like a 'loose wire', though I cant find said wire. Monitors run off of three color channels - red, green, and blue - and when it glitches out it's simply the red channel not working at all (so the green/blue are overpowering and make everything seem teal tinted). It hasnt been happening all that much, but every once in a while it goes whack again.

And the integrated video card is an Nvidia GEforce 6150LE
