IL2 sturmovik 1946 - jshkornmiller - 05-21-2008 Have any of you people ever played IL2 Sturmovik 1946? If so, what is your favorite aircraft to pilot? mine is the BF-109-k series with two MKII 30 cal cannons on the wing ports. very nice at taking out flying fortresses. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Dab - 05-21-2008 I have it. I use the BF109s as well (don't really know which class is my favorite), and I also like the P-51s. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Stratus - 05-22-2008 Yeah, good game that actually. Used to play it a hell of a lot, You guys let me know if you want to see some flukes happen and I'll post some groovy replays up. Just wish I had recorded the time I took out that airbase in a buffalo, took me a day and a bit to get that technique sorted. If you want one hell of a challenge, theres one. Great game tho, will be good to see what their next release will be like. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Gurra Himself - 05-22-2008 It's a great game, one of my favourites. But I don't really know which aircraft I like the most. I like all the planes in the Pacific Fighters part. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - jshkornmiller - 05-22-2008 I had a video of me taking down a ME 262 in a P-51, but i lost it when my pc crashed last time. I have also flown bombing missions i made in a mitchell with 2 wings of p-51 support fighters. I also had 4 wings of BF-109's and FW-190's engaging me, boy that was a fun run. next time i should take some screens. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Jinx - 05-22-2008 played the demo some time ago. - nice simulator - much more fun than these high tech simulators where you hardly ever see an opponent that is larger than a single dot and a reticule. ( janes fa18 hornet/falcon 4.0 ) at least you have really nice dogfights here - but simulations are not really my favourite. especially not those that try to simulate a RL military life. i find that boring - take off, fly to a, take out x, come back.... . ( but maybe that was only in the demo ... cannot comment on the retail ) the only simulation i liked was - i think it was janes longbow 2. it had a dynamic campaign and let you choose your mission targets yourself aswell as the time to attack, the equipment, heli, crew - etc. - oh, and i never beat it. I played the first Longbow and Jane's ATF (gold) long ago. Brilliant simulations. Too bad Jane's doesn't make these things anymore. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Thor22 - 05-23-2008 Used to play the original IL2 a while ago, not played it for ages though! Might dig it out now that it's been mentioned:) IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Dmalak - 05-31-2008 HEH, this indeed, is a fun game. i like to fly the spitfires, i love the sound of that rolls royce engine. IL2 sturmovik 1946 - Tenacity - 05-31-2008 never played it, but I have Blazing Angels for xbox 360... great fighter game if you ask me. usually I stuck with the jap Raiden, was a stubby little thing but nice and quick. Was the only plane I could effectively dogfight in (meaning... I never got shot down flying that thing, but nobody else seemed to be able to use it well). I did ok in some of the others, could take out most average players using a hellcat, ME-262, or ME-109. Dogfights with everyone in bi/tri planes was fun too =) |
