Game of Thrones - sindroms - 09-12-2012 Well, what can I say. The first ever isntance when I found anything related to the series was the ''Winter is Coming'' meme on 9gag and membase. Since then, I largely ignored it like I usually do things, because I am rather skeptical when it comes to widely worshiped movies and tv series. The reason I actually looked into it was because my mother, who I know is a large fan of the fantasy genre and I know it takes quite a lot to impress her. And after she gave me a flashdrive of the first two seasons, only then I decided to watch it. What can I say....damn better than I expected. And for those, who have yet to watch it. There are torrents. If you google ''Game of Thrones txt'' then the first result is the book. I haven't read the books, but my mother has and has suggested that I watch the TV series first because of simply getting acquainted with the characters. Anything after this point is considered SPOILERS, so please read at your own risk. I have a certain something for books and shows which do not have a defined main protagonist. That is why I loved Neon Genesis Evangelion and this is why I like Game of Thrones. Everyone is well defined, has their flaws and their story. However, since the introduction of the white walkers, I already understood that this would be a fantasy genre. Up until the Mother of Dragons, I really respected the series as showing the brutal and rather forward world they all interact in, which had little to no magic in it, which one would not usually expect from a scene set in the ''ye old days'' but as far as I was told, the dragons were added because of the writer's newphew going all ""Awww, no draggies? >:'' or something. So far. Damn good. Next season is on march of 13th. Books are still there to read, though. So ye. Game of Thrones - Xoria - 09-12-2012 Have to say, this is sort of like saying, "I saw Elijah Wood, so don't YOU tell me about Frodo just because of some Tolkien fellow." But I did watch episode 9 of season 1 tonight, so yeah, HBO didn't blow it. Come now, I enjoy Tolkien's universe and the Hobbit and LOTR books, but up until season two it was nice to see a scene, where magic and sorcery was not overused. It was brutal, bold and open. Because it did have magic and sorcery in the end, did not make it into any less of a good experience. Which is still the only reason I am watching it. Game of Thrones - Tyler - 09-12-2012 Read all the books so far published, watched every episode and dying for the next book and the next season. Had to remove my wallpaper as I kept being reminded having to wait 'till March. Ever since I was little I enjoyed fantasy stories, movies and whatnot, and this one left a big mark on me. I'm a fan of swords and such, so didn't get dissapointed there either. Addictive crap. Dangit, another addicition. Game of Thrones - Hawk - 09-12-2012 Have you seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oNpmSAvpGQ&feature=plcp Game of Thrones - Death.RunningVerminator - 09-12-2012 It's a fantastic series. You should have seen my face when the House of the Undying guy got what was coming to 'um. Yea I'm a big Dany fan. I cheered. :yahoo: Game of Thrones - sindroms - 09-12-2012 ' Wrote:Have you seen this? Oh, I have. Before I watched the series or read the books, actually. Though, honestly, the duet was much more appropriate for the Skyrim theme. Game of Thrones - Jack_Henderson - 09-12-2012 I saw the 1st series on Dvd and I am reading the 3rd book now. It is damn good. I can only recommend it to anybody who likes fantasy literation and is not shocked by violence, a gritty brutal reality, blatant sexism and some soft porn.
