Gunfight at Deadwood - Stoat - 09-14-2012

Hmmm, I hope this poll works......................

Looking to run an event in Omicron Delta, around Nauru, but want to make sure that it's on the day when most folks will be available. So, depending upon which group you'll be in, add your votes and hopefully there's a consensus...................

The event is specifically for the official BHG Core faction (that said, we might have difficulty fielding 9 ships, so if there's unofficial Core players that want to join in, it's cool), and any and all Corsair players. I want there to be some Benitez/Sails/TBH representation, so half of the slots will be reserved for players from these factions.

This is the event. Will run it in a week or two's time, on the day that you lot choose.

This is not the place to sign up for the event, merely a way of finding out which day is best to run it on.

Gunfight at Deadwood

In an attempt to further the ease of supplying the settlement construction on Nauru, the Guild Core build a base on the opposite side of Nauru to Yaren. With the Corsairs seemingly distracted with their continuing actions in Bretonia and the Omegas, the Core hope to be able to develop the defenses of the bases quickly, before the corsairs can mount a strong enough assault on the base to destroy it. The Corsairs, with most of their capital fleet busy protecting Omicron Gamma from frequent incursions by the Red Hessians, and various pirate bands, have only one option. They know they lack the neccessary firepower to simply destroy the base, and if they wait for a capital fleet to be sent from Omicron Gamma, the base will almost certainly have sufficient defenses to repel any attack. They mobilise a mixed force of bombers and gunboats to try and neutralise the Core ships protecting the newly constructed base. They can then take their time dismantling the base and stripping out all the valuable materials. (ie if the Corsairs win the day they get to keep the base and do with it what they will)

The Event

BHG Core will build a level one base on the far side of Nauru from Yaren. The base will be unshielded, but well supplied, so it's gonna take a while for the corsairs to be able to destroy it, if they are able to take out the Core vessels protecting it. This will be a war of attrition. When you die, you can return to the fight in the same vessel. You can do this more than once is you get killed lots. Let's face it, that's going to apply to most of us!

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention. Something unexpected will happen........

And it will be obvious.

And when it happens, there's no more respawning! From that point on, when you're dead, you're dead.

Allowed Ships - Yeah, we're going old skool gunboating here. No bleeding TZ/TS rubbish! And you'll all need to work on your SNAC aim, seeing as the range got chopped so much.

depending on the time, I'll be sairing around, I wont even have to change my gear hehe

Gunfight at Deadwood - Stoat - 09-14-2012

Forgot to mention that I'll be looking to run this between 6pm and 8pm British Time (GMT +1). For no other reason than I want to be playing:)

Gunfight at Deadwood - Pepe - 09-14-2012

I'll be there, with my shiny yellow bomber BHG|Core-Pepe|A. I will change rank A to G if I actually kill ANYBODY (except my self, ofc). So, stay on the right side of my snac, all of you guys.

Pepe

Gunfight at Deadwood - DarthBindo - 09-14-2012

I'll be there anydays, pickin' off yer bottlenoses wit mah claymores.

Gunfight at Deadwood - Yber - 09-14-2012

Just as a side note... putting the praetorian into a fight with a BHG bomber is a bit unfair. Maybe you could include rocs? I'll try to be there.

Gunfight at Deadwood - Stoat - 09-14-2012

There are many that would say putting the Orca into a fight with the Imperator is equally unfair. However I know many very skilled Praet pilots that would easily put most of our bomber pilots to shame. I've fought enough of them myself. I also know a few Orca pilots that are pretty skilled with the pulse/razor set up, certainly good enough to upset a similarly armed Imp.

Considering the kind of furball this is going to be I expect everyone to go boom many times before the event is over, regardless of whether you're flying a BHG bomber, Praet, Orca or Imperator.

But, if you Corsairs are unwilling to enter this little bit of madness because they feel the Praet is too vulnerable, I'm happy to have a few corsair Rocs making a nuisance of themselves.

After all, this is an event that is aimed at having fun, above anything else. For both sides.

:cool:Darth. Nice to see you read the detail seeing as there aint gonna be any bottlenoses or Claymores there

Gunfight at Deadwood - ProfGiggles - 09-14-2012

What to choose, what to choose? I think I'm gonna go for an Imperator.
Oh, Benitez sair here btw.

Gunfight at Deadwood - Rodnas - 09-15-2012

Well, if all those Benitez sign up in the non-dignup i will follow the peer pressure and sign in with a Praetorian.

@Stoat: an alternat sair bomber would be the Mamoru, which is actually flown by both TBH and Sails pilots, Corsair Rocs are quite sparse

Edit:

Another Benitez wants to bugger around, this time it's Anso Benitez, flying another Praetorian of doom;)
