Vidar Vs. Hel - Manny Calavera - 11-16-2012
Ok so me and my friend flash have have a disagreement on two cruisers. Which one is better in whole. Vidar Vs. Hel. My argument is the Vidar has more armor, guns, firepower and can put up quite a fight and almost just as agile. The hel has less turrets and less armor less firepower. Ill let flash voice his own opinion here

Well I think Hel is better. Its smaller, harder to hit, and can kill BSs more easlily. Vidar is slower and easier to hit with BS. Now cruiser vs cruiser, Id have to say they are equal. Its speed and power. Easy to hit and harder to hit. Vidar isnt bad cruiser, but I found it bad against Battleships. The Hel even though it has less guns and less armor, the speed saves it. Thats just my opinion.

IMO in a Cruiser on Cruiser duel the Hel is better if it keeps distance. Both are good, but a good Hel pilot vs a good Vidar pilot. I'd say 2 out of 3 times the Hel would win.

It depends on the role of the vessel. If you intend to overpower other cruiser class vessels, the Vidar is a much better choice since it carries more firepower. If you just need a fast, agile cruiser that can deal with gunboats or bomb battleships from a distance, the Hel is the better option.

Hel is OP cruiser following the logic of the balance team that destroyers should have bad back/side arcs for exchange of their good size and manoeuvrability,suddenly by mistake the hessian balance dev forgot to cut the arcs of his cruiser while he cut the arcs of all other cruisers in the mod.
Same story with his heavy bomber- the best bomber for cloaking that got the proper cargo space by mistake when other heavy bombers like fanfir and barghest.
Vidar is quite nice cruiser as well, it could use the best cruiser missile DPSwise in game given to hessians by mistake that almost do the DPS of 2 normal cruiser missiles while using only one heavy slot, this makes Vidar the single cruiser in the mod that effectively have 5 heavy slots to have 2 cerbs 1 LM and 2 missiles in 1 slot.
Go to count the mistakes, even when both ships are way better then the rest of the cruisers in their class my vote goes for Hel- it is the bottlenose of the cruisers.
In general favouritism is everywhere here at least is not for money and everyone can enjoy the fine Hessian toys not like Cris Roberts no-PvP button.

Yes Blodo deserves the scumbag hat.
Kusari Destroyer, Siege Cruiser, Thresher, Hel, Corvo and maybe Thanatos fit in the "OP" category of yours.
You say Hel is OP, go fly it against another cruiser. I am pretty sure you will lose because maintaining the safe distance is harder than it sounds. Hel's main advatages are the it's small size and great ability to kite and those make it excellent battleship/snub killers.
