Our GSP gave us a new server, so the IP changed, 174.34.165.180, I also updated it at the bottom.

Ok guys, I just rented a dedicated server for people in my clan to play FL Discovery on.
The whole reason I rented my own is that it seems every server owner wipes characters after 1-3 months of inactivity. That is extremely annoying, having to start over whenever I want to play.
That will not happen on my server, I have character wipes turned off.
Currently it is a private server, but if you guys want, I can open it up if people like the idea of not having character wipes.
So, if you like it, say so and I will take the password off.

I went ahead and removed password protection. Until the admins for Discovery add me to the database, you will have to direct connect:

tbh, nobody cares.
That may seem harsh, but when it comes to Freelancer online,
Discovery is the first, and last, word in terms of both quantity and quality.

That's true to an extent, DarthBindo, but the problem is some people don't like all the rules and regulations. And before you say, "Then go elsewhere", That's what the other servers are for. To give people a chance to play this awesome and expansive mod with a less restrictive ruleset. This is supposed to be fun. Just because you think it's fun doesn't mean I would agree. What I consider fun, you might (probably would) think was boring. Everyone's different. And this is a good thing. Life would be boring as he** if everyone was the same
I think it would be a good thing to have another public server and therefore I voted yes. The problem is it seems to be taking forever for the ones who maintain the in-game server list to get new servers listed. Unless it's listed on the in-game server list, no one is going to login. I know they are busy and have other priorities. I'm not complaining, just stating facts.

I agree with Bindo to some extend.
I am in general against 13542646 severs,there should be 2 servers only- the main RP one and something like DoD but with better availability/support/restarts. Dividing the smaller player base to servers with 1-2 active players per 24 hours is plain stupid.

Personally i think Disco have got it bang on! Not everyone likes certain rules and players who find it difficult but enjoy the mod would want to play it somewhere that resembles how they like to play.
You just have to have it right for the market of players out there. I have been in luck with the way my server's RP is different to other Disco servers also how i let players just Play and not be bothered by RP if they don't want to. Without this kind of availability to the Disco mod i think it would hit some trouble and im most glad they have done it the way they have.

Ok, since a few of you have said that you would like access to the server, I went ahead and took password protection off it. They still haven't added me to the database yet, so you need to direct connect. Edit your shortcut's target to look like this:
"R:\Games\Microsoft Games\Discovery Freelancer 4.86.0\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -s206.217.141.244:2302 -dx

Lets see some new servers, I've tried them all, would be nice to see a new one or two every once in a while. Breaks from the constant RP monotany. Once i get my sever list working again, I would very much like to try it.
