Sirius-wide activity coordination - Pavel - 12-06-2012
It's no secret in the last weeks (months?) our server experiences serious activity problem. My proposition is: let's coordinate activity on a sirius-wide level, for example on Mondays as many factions as possible go to Bretonia, GRN raids it, LN helps BAF, in the meantime Rheinland trade factions fly in a large convoy there while Sairs invaded Cambridge, Outcasts/Junkers smuggle cardi, Mollys are after BMM....
On Tuesday we go to Kusari, etc etc.
Sirius-wide Tau Madness, but not necessarily focused on PvP.
What do you think?

This is an interesting idea. Are you planning to have someone write specific RP events or just have everyone focus on a specific area. If done well I can see good things coming of this.

Maybe let's don't try anything spectacular at start, just agree e.g. this evening GRN raids Bretonia while combined BAF-LN force tries to stop them, Outcasts try to smuggle load of Cardamine, but they can meet Corsair raiders who visited House at the time, convoy of Rheinland traders meets Mollys who were trying to get BMM miners in Cambridge, but BPA is in the area... Making this goal-oriented would be nice, for example Bowex tries to deliver x amount of commodity XYZ to Port Talbot, while Corsairs try to intercept cargo, Outcasts win if x amounts of Cardi is delivered to Trafalgar, BPA wins if they intercept/destroy certain percentage of that shipment...

Erm ... you want to do all those at the same time? The server thoughs a hissy fit every time a fights more than about 8 on 8. What your basically proposeing is stressing the server to crashing point.

What I meant is that there's no need of getting a trollton of people on the same place. Little brawls, piracy/trading/police/navy organized and NOT CLOSED groups. Something that doesnt' create lag.
And forbid uncloaking capshits. My inet is bad enough as it is.

I like the general idea of logging in a special region preferrably. It would not mean to "All log Leeds now!", which would ofc crash the server. But something like "Tuesday, Bretonia is the preferred playground today" could mean that the miners mine in Dublin that day, that stuff is preferrably taken to Bretonia and that raids would be in Bretonia that day.
I don't know whether it is already necessary, though. And I am sceptic whether there would be users who like it that way and would participate.

We're having sair raid in Berlin atm, it seems something's going on in NY too, and server is doing excellent.
