Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - Swallow - 12-09-2012 Just a hint. The point is to put those values in perfoptions.ini color_bpp= 16 depth_bpp= 16 The only drawback is that game will be looking a bit comics-like, though it gives two times more FPS (that is how I feel difference on my netbook) even at high resolution and maximum settings. (I also reccomend to put Nebula value to 0.00 - 0.30. You`ll feel the difference in Newcastle. It is a part of "Space detail" option, so editing it separately would keep asteroids and sun rendering the same. Also you may like to put "Read only" flag at perfoptions.ini, so if you accidently change something you`ll need to re-enter the game so the saved options come back.) RE: Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - Veygaar - 12-09-2012 It is also cheating. Do you know the residual effects of the players who fight you from pushing your FPS? On your side every thing will run smooth and clean, but to opponents you will "jitter" and "mini-warp" making you more and more impossible to hit, while you get smooth moving targets to aim at. There are several players currently in the game abusing this. RE: Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - Ursus - 12-09-2012 He's lucky to get 30 FPS out of his laptop RE: Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - SparkyRailgun - 12-09-2012 Veygaar you seem a little buttmad. RE: Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - Silver - 12-09-2012 'Ripping' only occurs if you push over the 180 fps barrier. Easily detected ingame due to the insistent microwarps or screenshots due to the low quality (no nebulas, no trails, no starsphere). Not that it matters in capitals. They have auto-aim already 8| <3 RE: Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - Narcotic - 12-09-2012 So is this now cheating or not? Because I'd love to try it on my netbook. And no - I never reach over 60 fps... To play a spaceshooter game from the early 2000's. 8| RE: Increasing FPS rate (Works with max. settings) - lw'nafh - 12-09-2012 (12-09-2012, 04:22 AM)Silver Wrote: And even for that you'll need a very top of the line rig.
