Most profitable activity? - sean24 - 12-16-2012 Hi I was wondering- as a gauge of the general mod balance what does the community feel the most profitable activity is? This is in terms of cold hard cash income. Not counting factors such as being pirated, arrested, etc. Either: Trading, mining, smuggling, pirating, player bases... RE: Most profitable activity? - JayDee Kasane - 12-16-2012 Codename trade or mining. codename trade do you more cash per one time but you may wait many time before fing customer. mining constantly gives you cash, but this requires many active online time. missions leff profitable. trading/smuggling even less profitable. bounty hunting and pirating requires luck to find good target. player bases is just not profitable already cuz of large ammont of those. RE: Most profitable activity? - Jack_Henderson - 12-16-2012 Mining, but only if you do it in a group. If you do it alone, there might be other activities that earn you more money. RE: Most profitable activity? - bloogaL - 12-16-2012 In what way are you suggesting player bases are used to make money? I can think of several different methods. You haven't given enough information. Anyway, the most profitable cash grinding method by far is jump trading. The setup costs are high and you need a decent sized group people to make it worth it but a decent route will have you rolling in it soon enough. JZ was proof enough of that. You shpuld include it in your poll options. RE: Most profitable activity? - sean24 - 12-16-2012 Quote:n what way are you suggesting player bases are used to make money? Sorry I can't edit the poll :/ (12-16-2012, 10:53 AM)Jack_Henderson Wrote: Mining, but only if you do it in a group. How does mining in a group make more money than solo? Also I remember trading and smuggling to be the most profitable thing in older versions. Times have changed? Couple of people stay in the field with one or more Hegemons and drop ore packets in space. Then one or two other players haul on transports to a buying location. With just one Hegemon, the nerfed cargo hold makes solo mining not so profitable as it was. RE: Most profitable activity? - Narcotic - 12-16-2012 In my opinion, the most easiest and relaxed way is doing missions. You can do it whenever you like, and nobody is going to disturb you. Your last sentence suggests that you might have been away a bit. So I'll quickly point out some changes. Mining has been slowed down compared to what it used to be. That means that filling with 1 ship takes quite a long time, is boring, risky, etc. If you have e.g. 4 players, you put 3 miners in the field, run 1 transports there that never stop cruising, tractors, returns to base. 1 miner logs off, logs transport. 1st transport logs miner. Meanwhile, 2 miners in the field keep dropping ore packages. Once the trader is there, it only takes 1-3 minutes to be full again. If each transport logs a miner later to fill the other traders, there are always enough miners, hardly any waiting time in the fields, hardly danger and no one is bored by waiting. This way you do not pay for the ore as everybody filled everybody. RE: Most profitable activity? - sean24 - 12-16-2012 I see well perhaps I should join a mining group so that I can mine with some people. RE: Most profitable activity? - Hone - 12-16-2012 How can you have an accurate Poll, discounting player interaction, when many of them, Especially Pirating, bounty hunting, and codename trading, REQUIRE player interaction? |
