Players being banned for selling goods at more than expected - KellyR - 12-28-2012
I've been having some player autobanned with the following message in the log
12/27/2012 23:57:40 Possible cheating detected (id=06A007BC:5E08D5C4 sold more good for more than expected: item=0xBFD0F9C5 count=4990 expected_cost=10633690 client_cost=14970000) by playrename withheld(23-6f25fe7f)(77e07493-79f6835a-d46c8ebc-4805ac0b) IP information withheld
If I'm not mistaken, the item it's referring to is Spaceship Crew.
Usually I unban them and it doesn't happen again. But had it happen twice to the same person. I'm pretty sure they aren't cheating.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

think they do cheat. i think its possible to set it clientside the price higher then serverside. so they adjusted some of the cfg files. for prices for example. ask him/her to reinstall it. and its fixed.

Oh, I know about reinstalling. And you're right, that does fix it. Some might cheat, but I've had 7 or 8 instances. a couple of the people I know personally and they don't cheat. I'm just wondering if maybe if you're playing on another server if the prices aren't reset if you switch without exiting Freelancer that it won't clear the previous prices.
