Freelancer Discovery Question - Christian22179 - 01-06-2013
Don't know where else to ask this but, I have a question.
Without the Discovery Mod, I was always being stopped by someone wanting to scan my cargo. Then, ever since I installed Discovery 8.84, I have never gotten my cargo scanned by anyone throughout the entire run of the game. In fact, I don't even see anyone but Bounty Hunters on patrol anymore whereas in the regular game I saw lots of patrols out.
So, my question is this. Why was this removed from Discovery 8.84?
I loved it when I got my cargo scanned, tis why I ask.
Second question, is there some simple, and easy, method to restore this?

AFAIK cargo scanning has not been disabled. However there are 2 issues:
1. Only NPCs on patrol paths scan your cargo, not NPC in area populations. Most non-vanilla systems don't have any patrol paths, so you won't get scanned in those regions.
2. When server load gets heavy, NPC populations get culled to reduce load. No NPCs, no scanning.
In short, not much can be done about it. Oh well......

And, even if Disco systems dont have patrol paths police players may still scan you and if contraband you drop it or die, pay a fine or else criminal list.

I went through the Vanilla Freelancer again and answered my own question.
