Server Player Activity Tracker changed - Senshi - 01-09-2013 Phoenix.Alpha just noticed that the old server activity tracker system has been wiped and replaced by this: http://discoverygc.com/forums/serverinterface.php?action=faction_status This is a pity. I assume the tracking still continues as usual, just the availability of data has been changed to only show faction activity in a nicer way. While I appreciate the effort to make the data more user-friendly, removing the traditional tracking system entirely killed the scripts of the activity tracking sheet that Phoenix set up and I coded: ![]() It's a google spreadsheet based data "miner" that has some javascript behind it, automatically tracking and archiving the monthly player and faction activity, but in the essence it produces this fancy customizable picture and some accompanying data tables (e.g. "Change to last year" etc). Our archive dates back to April 2011, but we only visualize the last 15 months to not clutter up the chart. The new faction activity site would still be harvestable for faction data, but in addition we still would need an "total player activity over last month" sheet, incl. the non-faction player activity. Retaining the current faction player activity table is nice as well, I can easily adapt the scripts to read that and produce a new chart that visualizes the activity development of the official factions on a monthly basis. Alternatively, just opening access to the old format tracking files would be equally awesome and allow us to continue tracking these statistics. RE: Server Player Activity Tracker changed - Lumik - 01-10-2013 Old activity tracker and access to server interface was turned off because of attempt to have more security against attacks (if I understood everything well).
