Civilian Cruiser - ssc - 01-10-2013

I was thinking, since I know I wouldnt mind having a cruiser, some others would also like one, the only problem, if your not in a faction with a Capital, you end up getting shot at or told to leave the system. So, instead of cruiser using cruiser based turrets, a civilian cruiser using gunship turrets. With either 8, 10, or 12 guns, core of 600,000, standard hull of 175,000, and a cargo of 750.

Don't expect a texturized version of this, cause I can't do textures, tried the programs that were said to be easy. None of them were that user friendly, so if someone wants to give them textures, I can send the files to you. Basically, the model is really a mix of 2 concepts, the Venator Class Star Destroyer from Start Wars and the Hiigaran Battlecruiser from Homeworld 2. Desided to make it symmetrical, thinking of trying something asymmetrical maybe.

You are getting better at making models.

I can't say anything about model, its good, but...Civilian capital ship.
Whole battlecruiser for civilians...but civilians are just people who belong to one country, in FL to house. They not a part of any sizeable groupe, which can afford to have such ships like this, I mean, they should be united by any porpouse, ideas or stuff like this. And then, they starting to be members of factions or organisation, but no longer civilians.

But model is great. I like it.

Isn't a Civil cap overpowered? If its a Civil vessel
pirates shoult use it. I think the gmg needs a cruiser.

RE: Civilian Cruiser - Sanguines - 01-10-2013

I wouldnt want to see a civillian cruiser. That would be very bad in my opinion, and also out of RP. Why would a civillian want a cruiser anyway?

The biggest Civil's should get are personall liners.

RE: Civilian Cruiser - Mercarryn - 01-10-2013

Well, the model itself looks promisable and might have potential.
But as the others already said: Cruisers are warships, there is noting "civil" within. Thus they are only military tech.
Instead, why not use this model as some sort of new liner or yacht perhaps?

RE: Civilian Cruiser - Flashâ„¢ - 01-11-2013

Model is nice, but GB Turrets makes no sense, since B Nose can kill a actual cruiser.

And Civilians don't need cruisers, 5 VHFs can do alot of damage.

RE: Civilian Cruiser - LvM - 01-11-2013

hmmmm...
The old Discussion again, Civvie Caps Yay or Nay.

Why not just call it "Corporate Cruiser" or something like this ?
InRP, there are numerous Companys which could AND would spend the Money on such ships to counter Pirate Cruisers.
Convoy-Security and such Things, you know...

RE: Civilian Cruiser - Hone - 01-11-2013

hehehehe I remember when people were arguing about wether or not we should have a civillian GB.

RE: Civilian Cruiser - RmJ - 01-11-2013

The civilian cruiser idea is a fault. However generic cruisers that can be used for lawful and unlawful groups, proto civilian, would be nice. Paramilitary groups would utilize cap vessels as mobile commands. There is very little that promotes indie groups in this mod. Of course we've been burned by indie factions before. But we know those who RP and follow the rules and those who don't RP and break rules often. But I hate to see the rest of the ppl continue to be punished for the bad apples doings.

As for the model, I like it. With more refining and detail added it would be a nice addition somewhere.
