Warthunder - VoluptaBox - 01-21-2013
The new war, free to play, MMO.
Mostly for current World of Tanks/World of Warplanes players, but I recommend it to everyone.
I say mostly to WoT and WoWP, because it's very similar, yet it seems to lack everything that makes those two very frustrating right now.
It's in open beta right now and it only has planes (but way more planes than WoWP), they plan to add tanks and ships soon as well.
Played several games with some friends and it's plenty fun. Add me and we can squad if you want. PTS_Nirvana is the nick there.

playing it for a month.
Good sides:
-> People online 24/7, not much at night time, but still.
-> Higher level pilots often are guaranteed to be adequate and skilled.
-> Sometimes devs intoduce bonus programs.
Bad sides:
-> it's quite unbalanced for now, many aircrafts have incorrect flight model settings.
-> random jet fighters that ruin gameplay.
-> damage model is rediculous, like 20mm guns are weaker than brownings.
-> a lot of QQ. Id say billions of QQ text on forums and over chat )))
-> mostly russian server has big population, not EU.

It's a great game when you play with your friends. It's a shame though that you can't form a squad with more than 4 members, would like to see that number increase at least.
And I'm not very surprised by your choice of planes. Beaufighters are quite nice indeed!

I still haven't gotten into a squad(ron) yet, none of my friends play this game sadly. It's LoL or Firefall for them these days.
The Beaufighter Mk. X is a damned monster, I mean, fill it with ground attack ammo, and eight rockets... this will bring ANY bomber down if you attack from above. I fly high and then pounce on any plane who can't see me coming.
One plane I'm having trouble landing with, is the Spitfire Mk. II, the prop ALWAYS eats dirt when I try to land.
Oh and I joined purely for the British planes, not played others yet. I am however extremely tempted to get a Ju-87 G1, those cannons look amazingly powerful to me.

Sounds like you're overkilling bombers with that setup, hah! Out of all the planes, I must say that the Beaufighters are my favorites. I've tried every air force, and I like the British most of them.
The Junkers 87 are disappointing though, they might look somewhat good on paper, but in the air they're not that great. At least not when I'm flying them, hehe!
Can't say I've never had your problem when landing with Spitfires, not that I do that so often. I guess you just have to try over and over again (test flight) to get the niche for them.

Yeah bombers really don't last long, its just getting up to that altitude sometimes... Long time even with the new engines, wish I knew how much more power they actually give.
I heard it was bad, but... those cannons take off wings in no time.
Problem is combat landings require speedy landings since the airfields are regularly camped for easy kills, so I got to be ready to climb again. Although, most of the time I do head back to land, its because half my plane is unresponsive...

Yeah I been playing but been on a bit of a break. I tend to clan it and do 'countdowns' with multiple squads. DHO_ProwlerPC or was it DHO-ProwlerPC.....
